My partner and I loved this restaurant, visited on every visit to Brighton, generally three times a year and looked forward to the freshly prepared salads, flans and cakes, although we are not vegan. There was nothing like it. Sadly on visiting this month discovered is has been closed down, sad, sad, sad. We are hoping that the owners will... More

We visited this restaurant earlier this year, with my totally vegan stepson - it was great - completely vegan and had something for even my meat loving husband! Food was charged by weight - a really good idea. So we were so shocked to find it has now closed, and re-opened under the brand of V-Bites. Although this is also... More

Excellent for a tasty and healthy bite to eat. We had wanted to go to a much-praised vegan restaurant in the same street but they were full. This place holds the middle between a vegan deli and an inexpensive restaurant. Food is OK, I hardly noticed the "vegan" element - there's a few vegan dishes made to please normal meat... More

The restaurant has reopened under a different owner. We had a lovely meal with vegan fishfingers (!) and a nickerbocker Glory for dessert. Just wonderful! I forget the name but I can recommend this lovely place. Very good drinks as well!

Aloka was a brilliant place to eat, take a class or have a treatment but unfortunately it closed on Sunday the 9th of September 2012. Such a shame.

I came here for lunch (and also a back massage), and both were great. The lunch buffet items were all excellent quality, and there was a vegan lasagne that I wish I could recreate - it was just so good! Highly recommended!

After reading a positive review in the Independent we were eager to visit Aloka on Saturday at their restaurant to sample the Summer Evening Menu. Whilst not being vegetarians we thought the menu sounded inventive and exciting. We were not disappointed for every single dish we ordered was wonderful and bursting with flavour and taste sensations. The restaurant is upstairs... More

You do not have to be a vegan, or even a vegetarian, to appreciate the time and trouble that have gone into making this food so tasty and unusual.I discovered it one lunchtime, not so long ago on my own,and it was not long before I was dragging my spouse, and then other members of the family, back to savour the treat.Having been... My second or third visit to Aloka, always a favourite when visiting Brighton. A varied buffet choice of pasties, salads, hot dishes, burgers, stuffed vegetables. Great fresh juices. All dishes described well and ingredients listed. You put whatever you want on your plate and weigh it to determine how much you are paying. Really lovely appetising vegetarian food. You sit... More
