Stopped at this really interesting bar/eatery for lunch. I had the Halloumi on locally made ciabatta (via The Flour Shop or Pot) which was scrummy. My better half had the white onion soup. Both were lovely and filling. Great quality food at very reasonable prices. Great atmosphere. Worth a visit.

I visited last week for work Christmas drinks before going out for a meal. We found the drink options fairly varied and the prices weren't bad for Brighton, not too expensive but could be cheaper. I feel like it may have recently been renovated or redecorated recently as it looked different to how it did when I visited the year... More

I love drinking Brighton pubs bit in the group of about 20 of us 5 of us were kicked out. The reason being is that we were having a laugh Dancing to the swing music, apparently that's too much and makes the ultra expensive venue look bad, you know? A group of people having fun, would be fun, I know... More

I like going for drinks here - Thursday/Friday/Saturday it can get very busy, but bar staff are friendly and pretty efficient. There's music on many nights - from jazz to blues to folk - so if you're looking for somewhere for a quiet conversation, in the evening this probably isn't it, but it's got a great atmosphere. The food is... More

We stumbled upon the Mesmerist by chance and had an awesome night. 2 really great live acts, reasonably priced drinks and a lively friendly atmosphere!

Went in here for a lunchtime drink and a bar snack. A bit of a quirky place and looked like it could be a fun place in the evening. Eventually got served because the barman was too busy practising his juggling skills with cocktail bottles and dishes, eventually dropping them all. Ordered some food which was ok. My wife went... We ended up here after a stroll round the shops. The place is massive compared to a lot of the quaint drinking holes. A beer and nanchos, can't get that wrong and pricing was very reasonable. The toilets were disgusting (ladies). Filthy walls, floors and sinks...there was aftermaths of Saturday night drinking in there too.....yuk!

Hi, Thank you for giving us your honest opinion. We have had serious issues with our toilets lately and we work very hard to get them sorted with the companies involved. I can only apologise if it stopped you from having a nice experience in our venue and I hope next time we will meet your standards. Kind regards More

My friend had organised a meal to celebrate a special birthday. She emailed and phoned to confirm numbers. When we arrived they hadn't got enough space and claimed not to realise we were eating and were rude about it. We did stay cramped round a table and one of their main dishes on the menu classic burger had run out... More

The place itself is ok. The music can be a bit hit and miss. Bar staff were great and quick. The doormen have no social skills and need to go on a public relations course. The way in which they "rule" the clientele is just outrageous. I sing think they are even sure if the venues entry policy.

Hi Louise, Thank you for giving us your honest opinion and I apologise if you felt our doormen didn't conduct our door policy in a polite manner. We do have a strict door policy but we are very strict on applying it with professionalism. We have an external company providing our doormen and lately, there has been a lot of... More
