Premium Vodka Nicely Served

Interesting looking place ,cool name. Called in after a meal. Had vodka lemonades, was offered a choice of Vodka nicely served with a squeeze of lime and just the right amount of ice.

I wish I had read the reviews before heading into the Mesmerist for a bite to eat, Ordered two burgers, awful, the food was cold, cheese frozen on the burger, what a disappointment, The quality of the food seemed fine but its down to the chef, I guess he/she was in a rush to close the kitchen. What a shame,... More

What a dive, staff unfriendly, glasses warm, beer off. After completing the London to Brighton cycle ride we went out for a meal and drink luckily we only had a drink here the beer was off, the didn't care the so called manager didn't care. We found a quite side room to sit in away from the band that was... More

We popped in for a quiet pint and whilst the beer was good and the barman serving us was polite and friendly, the management and floor staff were despicable. Avoid this bar. Racist and ignorant staff kicked people out with no cause beyond their whim, refused to acknowledge that we were paying customers looking for a relaxed, quiet drink and... More

This was such a shame. I supported and loved The Mesmerist until yesterday. All I wanted was a glass of prosecco. I know "they have a massive cocktail menu and why would you order prosecco?" and "well if you're ordering it by the glass you shouldn't expect the best!" but no. I've worked in pubs and bars and trust me,... More

Staying in Brighton for 10th anniversary - had planned a number of activities - one being to visit the Mesmerist on Monday night - have a meal and see Flash Mob Jazz. Called in early Monday afternoon to get our bearings, a drink and reserve a table for two. 'Real Ale' was poorly kept, were told tables could only be... More

We came across this bar by accident a couple of years ago on a visit to Brighton. We lucked into a Monday night with Flash Mob Jazz, absolutely fab night with fantastic music, wonderful dancing, great drinks and atmosphere. Whenever we visit Brighton now we make sure we're there for a Monday so we can repeat the experience, always great.... More

The Mesmerist has all the elements for a fabulous pub/restaurant: it has a great theme and wonderful location right in the heart of Brighton, but unfortunately it falls flat for two reasons. The food is mediocre and service can be almost rude at worst. It's a real shame that chips, the basis of British kitchen, are soggy and limp. Though... More
