We wanted somewhere special for my husband's 65th Sunday lunch. And it was a good choice for the 11 family and friends who lunched at The Ginger Dog on Sunday. Great dishes, freshly cooked. Lovely staff. And proper food for kids.

My wife and I ate here recently on a Friday evening. We booked a table and arrived a little early. The pub was very busy so we had a drink at the bar first which was a great way to start the evening. Our table was in the main bar area (5) which we really liked. Lots of choice for... More

cant fault it really, food is amazing, staff are great, we have a small dog which is allowed in the restaurant, relaxed atmosphere, one of the best meals we have had in brighton, we have been 3-4 times now and the food is always great

Came here for a quiet celebration dinner following my daughter's university graduation ceremony and was not disappointed. The menu included some unusual takes on good old fashioned British food and also some interesting alternatives. The service was excellent and the ambience quiet and cosy - just what we were looking for.

It's part of the 'Ginger' chain, so what do you expect and yes - I've been here many times before - not least, when it was still the King of All Rugby Pubs in Brighton: The Wellington! We popped in, one Sunday evening, having walked down to the tremendous Thomas Kemp to grab a bite, only to find a wedding... More

This is a gastro pub situated in a quiet residential part of Brighton. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal here. We both had steaks which were cooked to perfection. The St. Joseph wine we had was excellent. The first bottle we tried was not right and was changed without any problem. There is one very unusual item on the menu; Rarebit... More

Very good food but we ordered a starter (cous cous salad) and we were surprised by the tiny size of the portion. Literally we paid £7 for three spoons of cous cous. I recommend just ordering a main course, starters are very small and price is £7-8£, not worth it. I complained about it and they said that it was... More

I’ve just spent a couple of days staying with a friend in KempTown, just round the corner from the Ginger Dog – so that’s where we went for dinner. And I was so glad we did. This is a popular local pub, and you can either eat in the bar or in the dining room behind it. The menu is... More

Friendly service. Food was delicious. Asparagus starter was a fresh flavour and simple. Chicken terrine stronger flavour but just as delicious. Pork and place mains were excellent. No pretension in this place, just a great dinner out. We'll be back next time we're in Brighton.
