This is a gastro pub situated in a quiet residential part of Brighton. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal here. We both had steaks which were cooked to perfection. The St. Joseph wine we had was excellent. The first bottle we tried was not right and was changed without any problem. There is one very unusual item on the menu; Rarebit... More

Very good food but we ordered a starter (cous cous salad) and we were surprised by the tiny size of the portion. Literally we paid £7 for three spoons of cous cous. I recommend just ordering a main course, starters are very small and price is £7-8£, not worth it. I complained about it and they said that it was... More

I’ve just spent a couple of days staying with a friend in KempTown, just round the corner from the Ginger Dog – so that’s where we went for dinner. And I was so glad we did. This is a popular local pub, and you can either eat in the bar or in the dining room behind it. The menu is... More

Friendly service. Food was delicious. Asparagus starter was a fresh flavour and simple. Chicken terrine stronger flavour but just as delicious. Pork and place mains were excellent. No pretension in this place, just a great dinner out. We'll be back next time we're in Brighton.

Fabulous restaurant tucked away in Brighton. Great food and efficient service. Will def go back next time we are in Brighton. Had a lovely 3 course meal with my husband, Portions aren't huge but they leave enough room for pudding...which was well worth having. Can also recommend the Espresso Martini!

Friends took us to this disguised gem, in deepest Kemptown (Brighton). Nice atmosphere, excellent food from a limited menu, with an attractive specials board. The staff were very attentive, very friendly and very professional. It was an excellent meal, we were not rushed or chased, even though they were busy. A gastronomy pub to take delight and to visit again.... More

I have eaten here before and the Hove Gingerpig and always had a good meal however last week at the Gingerdog it was one of the most revolting meals I have ever eaten/picked at...every single course. I started with smoked prawns which just tasted odd. Despite washing my hands several times i kept smelling them as well, yuk!. I also... More

Went to this restaurant last weekend with my two sons and one of their girlfriends as we couldn't get into the place that the boys wanted to take me, the staff, wine, service could not be faulted, it was an absolute treat. Cant wait to go back next time I am in Brighton.

I've been going to the Gingers since I moved to Brighton, The Dog is my local and for my partners birthday we decided this would be a great place to go. The dog has a small bar at the front of house with bowler hat lights. Its a scrubbed tables, tea candles, simple wooden floors, farrow and ball painted walls.... More
