The food was terrible. I had to send the starter back because it had obviously been cooked twice and was full of oil from re-frying. There was nobody else in the restaurant and now i know why. The korma was tasteless so I had to ask for the pickles so that i could spice it up a bit (even though... More

I eat in Indians a fair amount, being my favourite food, and was somewhat worried this restaurant was empty in midsummer. But the food was the best I have had in an Indian restaurant for quite some time, and well worth revisiting. The service was quick, friendly and efficient, they even filled my Bacardi and coke up, which most places... More

I thought the River Spice looked in need of a makeover, the restaurant looked a little run down. The food was average I had the Chicken Rogan but must admit it was cheap, the toilets were down in the basement and the light in the gents was out so if I closed the door it would be pitched dark and... At a conference with two colleagues in Brighton so no shortage of restaurants to eat at. Decided on an Indian & knew there were a few on Preston St. One of my colleagues & I had the set menu at £8.95 not a huge choice of starters, mains or sides but not to concerned given it was a set menu... Visited River Spice whilst in Brighton, and would recommend a visit to anybody. friendly efficient service, good value, clean, and the tastiest Indian Food I have tasted for a long time. Can throughly recommend the Chicken Sag, and Cauliflower Gobi. three courses and a drink, were £20 very good value.

An impromptu meal at this restaurant was an excellent experience. Staff polite and attentive, and my partner was very impressed by her meal. Mine was excellent too. We ate early on a Friday, so establishment was quite quiet. They were doing lots of takeaway business with locals, they obviously know what's good !
