Iydea is a small and very busy express vegetarian canteen right in the heart of Brighton's North Laine area. All the food is freshly made and is on display so you can choose only what you want to go on your plate or to take away. There is an extensive breakfast menu from 9:30 every morning which changes to the lunch menu at 11:30 (12:00 Sundays). Iydea does get very busy and cramped so best to avoid peak times if you want a little more space and comfort.

Fantastic vegetarian restaurant

Ate three or four times at Iydea in Brighton, and would love it if they would open a branch closer to my home! Delicious entrees, sides and salads, great variety, generous portions, really nice people and atmosphere. We usually took our meal to the upstairs part, and enjoyed a glass of wine and... read more

Really good reasonably priced vegetarian food. Homemade lemonade was very good! If I go to Brighton again, would eat here again!

What a great vegetarian restaurant I visited for the first time with friends who had been there before. As a bacon eater was surprised how much I enjoyed the veggie options which were freshly cooked and delicious. We could see our brunch being prepared and cooked with care. Really tasty.

I had a cooked veggie breakfast here and thoroughly enjoyed it. It wasn't the enormous breakfast, it was the smaller one, but there was plenty of it and I was full up when I left. I had a flat white coffee with it, which wasn't the largest that I've ever had but it tasted good and hit the spot. Where... More

One of my favourite breakfasts in Brighton, and boy are there a lot of places to eat brekkie in our city, is Iydea's peanut butter and bananas on toast. SUCH good value for SUCH good food. Wholesome, filling, tasty. The staff are genuinely lovely. Top marks to this small local company. Would rather you guys feed me any day.

I am a vegan so this restaurant is just right for me. My wife is not but she really enjoyed it. We visited on a Saturday lunch time so it was very busy but not so much that we had to wait or could not find somewhere to site. I love the fact that all the ingredients for the dishes... More

Doesn't matter if you are a meat-eater or veggie - the food here is so good and satisfying that you won't be disappointed! I visited the Iydea on western road at lunch time and had such a good range of hot foods, salads and dips on my plate that I didn't even know where to begin. You choose what you... More

A great selection of vegetarian food available as breakfasts and dinners to eat in or take out. Prices were apt, though perhaps a little pricey.

I ate here the last time I was in Brighton, which was a few years ago & was looking forward to eating here again. I would steer clear!!! Things went wrong from the start. When I went up to the counter to place the order, the staff member had problems keeping up with my order & asked me to repeat... More
