Great Experience

Popped in without a booking and got lucky as a table had cancelled 10 minutes prior. You must book as this place is VERY tiny and VERY good. I counted 22 covers. Thai food isn't that hard to cook but plenty of places seem to muck it up, not the case here. Decent ingredient cooked well without the... read more

Me and my partner plus another couple went to eat here on Monday evening. After seeing they had amazing trip advisor reviews, we were very excited. The place is just off a side street and not that easy to spot. The restaurant was empty, which made us slightly apprehensive, although it was a Monday and close to Xmas. Being a... More

Having had good reports by word of mouth, we decided to try Tookta's Cafe for ourselves. As it was my wife's birthday I called in the morning to book a table as it is a small cafe/restaurant. No answer, on the mobile number, so I left a message with my phone number just in case they wanted to reply. Within... More

Came here for my birthday whilst having a weekend in Brighton. It was very noisy and busy when we first went in but the 2 large groups left and we had a wonderful evening. The food was very tasty and the service personnel. Thank you to all at Tookta's Cafe.

I've been walking the dog past this cafe quite often over a period of time. Its been open 6 years so probably about that long and I've been planning to try it all that time. Well that's six years of wasted pondering. I love this restaurant. Tiny, friendly, reasonably priced and now my favourite Thai restaurant in this town. I... More

We have been coming here for 3 years, haven't been for more than 6 month, but went there tonight. Brighton have a lot of really good Thai restaurants, but Tookta's is just in another world - you need to go to realise the difference. Today I brought a friend who has never been before, but tried a lot of Thai... More

What a fantastic find. This is a small intimate restaurant that you must try. The atmosphere was friendly and comfortable. The food was just perfect in every way. The menu is not extensive but the food was a perfect for volume, flavour and spice. Tookta (hostess and chef) was so friendly but not overbearing and certainly not stuffy and formal... More

Was looking for a new thai restaurant to take the other half for her first thai food experience and found this little gem online. A small intimate little place with maybe only 8-9 tables, soft lighting and a relaxed playlist (for the most part!) gave it a great first impression The staff were friendly, giving customers the time of day... we were having a weekend away from London and were recommended Toots by our hotel. Food was amazing, and Tookta herself came out to have a little chat which was a nice touch. The restaurant is quite small and i don't get the folk who complain bout having to order a main AND a starter - its not expensive and... More

This used to be one of our favorite Thai places in Brighton but tonight they told us that you have to have a starter and a main course at the weekend and you can't share a starter either. Seems like these new rules may lose them custom. We left and went somewhere else.
