Went with Groupon deal, £7 for 2 pax for fish and chips. been before and it was OK. however, today I also had a cup of tea, when we were about to leave and I asked for the bill, I was charged £4.14, I queried the price of the tea and was told one cup of tea was £1.95, the... read more

Had to laugh though when my husband asked what the difference was with the Cod pland cod fillet and the waiter just leant forward and read what was on the menu....yeah thanks luv we can read but wondered why one was advertised as fillet and priced differently....maybe it was a daft... We went here after being given a voucher the waiting staff were really lovely, our starters were nice we had king prawns and white bait. The fish and chips were a little disappointing as my chips were very underdone they tasted like raw potato in the middle apart from that it was ok would go back but not have fish... More

Ate here mid January for an early supper. Just two of us with the group on deal for £7 - incredible value as the fish and chips are to die for. Served with mushy peas and salad. Happy waiters, nice ambience but sit a long way from the doors in the winter as its like an ice blast when they... More

I bought a Groupon deal without checking reviews and was subsequently put off when I later read several on Tripadvisor. I noted that those who had also used a Groupon offer seemed to be far more critical of the quality of the fish and chips and size of the portions than those who had chosen from the main menu and... On a wet and blustery day a friend and I went this establishment for lunch having purchased a voucher from an on line company. We ordered a prawn cocktail and whitebait and both were generous portions and tasty. Then came the fish and chips, one with peas and one without. Both were fresh and hot. Service was both efficient and friendly. We have... More

Fish and chips is a great classic dish- which is why it is so easy to spot the difference between a great dish and a not so great. This restaurant serves unsatisfying portions of fish. A posh exterior is let down by the menu. NO PICKLED ONIONS?!?!? I asked the waitress for 'beans' and for runner beans- not baked beans?!?!?... More

Came here using the taste card. The food was exceptionally poor value for money, even with the 2 for 1 offer. The sea bass and tuna steak were very overdone and portion sizes too small for the money paid. And to top it off the service was very bad considering he restaurant was empty. Would definitely not recommend this restaurant.... More

Don't be fooled by the seemingly low cost menu pricing or the dubious value Groupon/Living Social deals because you will end-up paying a hefty price once the time comes to pay your bill. Last Sunday evening I, with a dozen friends, made our first and what will be our last to the The Fish Brasserie & Grill. I ordered fish... More
