had a delicious meal at Pavel's, both enjoyed our dishes, good service, lovely touch offering a complimentary whiskey at the end of the meal!

I've eaten in Pavel on a number of occasions and always been impressed. Whilst certainly not the best Indian restaurant in Brighton (the Chilli Pickle would top the charts in almost any city), it's excellent value (something the CP is struggling to claim these days) and the menu is very good. Whilst very central, the restaurant always feels a little... More

Walked in here only as it was close to our hotel and assumed it wouldn't be good as it was quite quiet. How wrong was I. We ordered the set menu for 2 (£23 total) which was great. Poppadoms were warm and tasty and came with children choice of dips. Starter of chicken with bhaji delicious. Selection of mains was... More

We shared a pappadom with great condiments at the beginning. Super starters! I had the Mulligatawny soup, while my partner had lamb samosas - which we both thoroughly enjoyed. We both enjoyed the Lamb Potato Balti for our main course - large portions which left us bloated and satisfied. A thoroughly enjoyed visit!

This was our first trip to Pavel. The staff were friendly and attentive and the decor is contemporary, as has already been mentioned in the reviews below. The food was mostly very nice. We had chicken tikka massala and one of the house specials, a lamb hydrabad, some bombay aloo as well as rice and a peshwari naan. The curries... More

I was in St James Street, Brighton by myself looking for an early evening meal and couldn't decide between a Thai restaurant (the name of which escapes me) or Pavel (Indian) which is directly opposite. In the end I opted for Pavel because it had a tripadvisor award for excellence 2012 sticker in the window. As it was early evening... More

Went to the restaurant for a quiet meal, the place was empty, we should have know better..... Ordered papadames, menu said £0.50, on the final bill £2. Waiter was nice and friendly, then someone else came over to take our order, he was plain rude and when we asked about the food, he said to us "relax". That was our... More

This is our most used curry house. Sometimes it is excellent - the food is tasty , varied, well presented and cooked. And sometimes, just to keep you on your feet it is decidedly average !! The staff are always friendly, the service (as in speed) is not their forte. Pricing is fine - but as it has got a... More

We got a takeaway from this restaurant, having gone with reviews and the fact it was one of the only places I hadn't tried in Brighton for an Indian, I will say we had a few dishes, [3 different curries and side dishes ] which were all quite tasty [ though the madras could have been hotter ], the main...
