The Thai word Sabai translates simply as relaxed, the perfect description of this Brighton gastrobar where the urban cool of London on Sea is matched to the ethnic charm of the Land of Smiles. Bringing a taste of Phukets beach bars and Bangkoks most upmarket restaurants to the UK, Sabai is all about chilling out, South East Asian style a fact which is patently clear from the silk floor cushions, cocktail menu and warm, smiling welcome. The deep red and dark wood, gold and green interior is as beautiful as Sabais freshly cooked, authentic food, MSG free and made using local ingredients where possible and imported Thai herbs and spices where essential. Because everything is made to order, special requests are welcomed.

Really like this restaurant

We've been twice now, once in a party of eight for dinner and just recently lunch for two on a Saturday. Both visits were outstandingly good. Great food, nice ambience and warm friendly service.

Weekend in Brighton. Wanted a quick lunch after arrival at our guesthouse. Spotted this restaurant and noticed there were already a few customers inside which is generally a good sign. The staff were very friendly and our order was taken with explanation given of a couple of dishes to aid our choice! Git to say the food was well presented... More

Yummy little Thai place in Brighton. Great lunch deal and very tasty. Have been many times and always enjoyed! Just the right amount of flavour and spice.

We had a lovely time here for my sisters birthday. The food was absolutely perfect. Large portions and well presented. Cocktails were nice too. Overall really enjoyed it. Only down side is that we had Prebooked and at the end of the meal they told us that the card machine was broken and that we must pay in cash- so... More

It's a small, warm place with laid back background music. The food is tasty and good. They do a special afternoon, you can get a 3 course for £10.95. It is extremely good value

This is a small, relaxing venue with attentive and friendly staff. This was my first visit having been tempted by the apparent soothing ambience in which to enjoy a relaxing evening after work. I thought the starters were pricey and not overly enticing so my friend and I skipped those. The main courses are I think reasonably priced and what... More

We visited during a weekend in Brighton with the family - we're massive fans of Thai food and so were excited to dine in a restaurant that had been highly recommended. The staff, food, atmosphere and pricing all just felt very right, we were fascinated to find that most of the Thai staff were actually students studying Masters degrees in... More

We had a Duck Red Curry, Prawn Yellow Curry and a Beef Jungle Curry with sticky rice to takeaway last night and they were each INCREDIBLE. Seriously the best Thai food in the south. Love this place, highly recommended.

Had a lovely afternoon lunch here today. Lovely, friendly and personal service, wonderful food (for both of us) and friendly atmosphere. Great for gluten free and a lovely walk available afterwards in Pavilion Gardens. A great choice for tourists and locals alike.

I have been to this restuant many times and well they deserve 100% every time. I ask to sit at the back on the floor tables with the big cushions. The menu has a wonderful selection of dishes I can never make up my mind! The Thai red curry is a favourite dish of mine! Staff are very relaxed and... More
