Description: The Thai word Sabai translates simply as relaxed, the perfect description of this Brighton gastrobar where the urban cool of London on Sea is matched to the ethnic charm of the Land of Smiles. Bringing a taste of Phukets beach bars and Bangkoks most upmarket restaurants to the UK, Sabai is all about chilling out, South East Asian style a fact which is patently clear from the silk floor cushions, cocktail menu and warm, smiling welcome. The deep red and dark wood, gold and green interior is as beautiful as Sabais freshly cooked, authentic food, MSG free and made using local ingredients where possible and imported Thai herbs and spices where essential. Because everything is made to order, special requests are welcomed.

Had a lovely afternoon lunch here today. Lovely, friendly and personal service, wonderful food (for both of us) and friendly atmosphere. Great for gluten free and a lovely walk available afterwards in Pavilion Gardens. A great choice for tourists and locals alike.

I have been to this restuant many times and well they deserve 100% every time. I ask to sit at the back on the floor tables with the big cushions. The menu has a wonderful selection of dishes I can never make up my mind! The Thai red curry is a favourite dish of mine! Staff are very relaxed and... More

My wife and I had our first date in this restaurant and each year we make the journey back like a pilgrimage as we love this restaurant so much. I know we might appear bias but I promise you that you won't find better Thai food in Brighton. Each year we have been back during the week but we always... More

I found Sabai at the weekend purely based on it's distance from the Theatre Royal. We didn't book but should have - luckily as we were only going to be 30-40 they offered us a seat at the bar. The staff were very friendly without being instrusive, the menu interesting as well as having all the usual you would expect.... More

Food is great and service is friendly. Before 5:00pm you pay £11 for a 3 course menu which, for the same quality of food in other Thai restaurants you could easy pay £25. I suggest trying the Thai Mojito! And pleasant music.

We were rather late booking so ended up eating 'Thai style' on cushions at low tables. Lovely atmosphere, attentive staff and one of the best Thai meals I've ever had. The green curry is 'award winning' and rightly so. We'll be back on our next trip to Brighton...

Been here a number of times and no other Thai in Brighton has lived up to it. As a vegetarian you often can't get a Thai Green Curry because they add fish sauce to it but they always leave this out for me - showing that they really do make everything from scratch. Service is friendly and prices very reasonable.

We decided to visit Sabai again following a previous visit and it didn't disappoint. As we were going at around 8pm on a Monday night we didn't think there would be need to book but it was packed, luckily the staff were very friendly and were able to sort us a table. Considering how busy it was the service was... More

Lovely food and service. Sadly positioned in a side street and not easy to spot - but the food is really delicious - as good Thai food as I have tasted in Brighton.
