Description: The Thai word Sabai translates simply as relaxed, the perfect description of this Brighton gastrobar where the urban cool of London on Sea is matched to the ethnic charm of the Land of Smiles. Bringing a taste of Phukets beach bars and Bangkoks most upmarket restaurants to the UK, Sabai is all about chilling out, South East Asian style a fact which is patently clear from the silk floor cushions, cocktail menu and warm, smiling welcome. The deep red and dark wood, gold and green interior is as beautiful as Sabais freshly cooked, authentic food, MSG free and made using local ingredients where possible and imported Thai herbs and spices where essential. Because everything is made to order, special requests are welcomed.

sauces were not very rich or robust. Vegetables uninspired carrots and corn -what about the thai aurbergine and the snow pea!

Situated right by the Pavilion Gardens, it has a great location. Staff were friendly and reasonably efficient. The food was spot on and less than £40 for two courses for two including drinks. Great, authentic tastes if a little on the hot side!

We were very impressed with the food here - lovely flavours and reasonable prices (although rather slow service). Just be prepared for everything to be a notch hotter than in the average UK Thai restaurant!

Came here for a pre-show meal before the theatre. Had a massaman curry which they do in wagammamas but never thought much of it. This one was just scrumptious! And the hors durvs were delish. Best Thai meal we've had. Like the decor too with the water fountain.

Sabai serves the most authentic Thai food I've ever eaten in the UK. Absolutely delicious. They offer a 2 or 3 course lunch from 12-5 everyday for a very reasonable price. The veggie options are good and their tofu is one of the best I've had. It's also in a nice location next to the Pavillion park.

My other half and I came to Sabai on Sunday rounding off our anniversary weekend in Brighton. I've been once before and my partner has been on at least 5 other occasions as he does a lot of work in Brighton. All other visits have been exceptional with food, drink and service, but sadly this time I can only rate... More

I've been to Sabai Thai several times now with my partner as well as with friends and I absolutely love the ambience in there. The restaurant is very cosy and elegant and it has a little waterfall underneath a big buddha art piece which just makes me feel like I'm on holiday. The thai curries and salads are delicious and... I have dined here a few times and the last time was with family members. The choice is very varied and covers all bases. We had a variety of dishes and all were served and presented beautifully. The attention to detail with the presentation is fantastic. The taste of the food is delicious. The staff are very friendly, professional and... More

I booked a table early but as I was a solo got stuck behind a pillar. I found the fish cakes starter very rubbery, the green curry very good but the pad thai bland and too sweet. The staff provided good service.
