Description: Sabai show's tremendous consistency having won a certificate of excellence...
Sabai show's tremendous consistency having won a certificate of excellence award for the last 4 years running. The Thai word Sabai translates simply as relaxed, the perfect description of this Brighton gastrobar where the urban cool of London on Sea is matched to the ethnic charm of the Land of Smiles. Bringing a taste of Phuket's beach bars and Bangkok's most upmarket restaurants to the UK, Sabai is all about chilling out, South East Asian style a fact which is patently clear from the silk floor cushions, cocktail menu and warm, smiling welcome. The deep red and dark wood, gold and green interior is as beautiful as Sabai's freshly cooked, authentic food, MSG free and made using local ingredients where possible and imported Thai herbs and spices where essential. Because everything is made to order, special requests are welcomed.

beautiful authentic Thai food

Pre booked as have tried just turning up in the past and glad we did. The smell of Thailand hits you as you walk in the door and once the food arrived the whole experience just got better. Great service and Thai rum made it better still. Can't wait to go back again

We went in on a week day evening, it was quite busy inside though, mostly couples. Ordered a couple of starters and two curries each. Starters were very nice and tasty however the curries left it down. Both tasted watery and lack of flavors, it could fool me as microwave curry in fact. Almost felt like soups. It didn't have... Knowing we were visiting Brighton again we pre-booked with the restaurant as it gets very busy. We had another wonderful evening with great service and great food. We will definitely go back again.

My wife and I like to eat here regularly, although we haven't been able to do so for while. Fortunately, we were able to come here again on 14 July last, when we had another very good meal. The food is well prepared, and there is a good choice of dishes on the menu. The atmosphere in the restaurant is... More

I walked round Brighton for over an hour looking for food. I resigned to my usual steak and chips in the hotel. On my way back I saw a little sign for this place. The atmosphere on a Wednesday evening is very good and the food is authentic and very tasty. Service is good, fast and they pay attention to... More

My husband and I have been coming to Sabai since the week it opened - we'd been to the Theatre Royal, which is just a street away, and liked the look of this new restaurant. The food was amazing! As it had only just opened there weren't many customers, and we were able to have a long chat with the... More

Firstly can I start by saying this is a hidden gem in Brighton! Unless you know where it is...it's hard to come by. Sabai is set just on the side of the pavilion gardens (just off north street) with the outside tables extending onto the patio (which makes it perfect for dinning outside in the summer). Once you enter, ur... More

We were only visiting Brighton for one night on this occasion and with so many great restaurants its hard to choose. We fancied Thai food, but I wanted one who catered well for a veggie diet (no shrimp paste, oyster sauce or fish sauce). I happened to speak to a man in Holland and Barrett who recommended Sabai Thai. I... More

Sabah Thai Gastrobar serves delicious range of Thai fare with subtle flavours and a cool vibe. Unrushed friendly service and good value at £23 for appetiser, main and glass of wine.
