The Thai word Sabai translates simply as relaxed, the perfect description of this Brighton gastrobar where the urban cool of London on Sea is matched to the ethnic charm of the Land of Smiles. Bringing a taste of Phukets beach bars and Bangkoks most upmarket restaurants to the UK, Sabai is all about chilling out, South East Asian style a fact which is patently clear from the silk floor cushions, cocktail menu and warm, smiling welcome. The deep red and dark wood, gold and green interior is as beautiful as Sabais freshly cooked, authentic food, MSG free and made using local ingredients where possible and imported Thai herbs and spices where essential. Because everything is made to order, special requests are welcomed.

Nice food, friendly service

We visited the Sabai on the off chance and without a booking as it was a Sunday evening we assumed they wouldn't be too busy, but we were wrong! The place was packed which shows how popular it is. We stumbled across this lovely little thai restaurant whilst in Brighton for a day trip. We were greeted by friendly warm and polite staff and the service was amazing throughout our meal. Our meal was authentic to an extremely high standard. We ordered both vegetarian and non vegetarian items and each dish was as delicious as the next. The portion... More

I tried the beef green curry, but the serve speed was slow and the beef was too old. i think the price is higher than the wealth.

Managed to find a table for us, and the service and food was brilliant. I cannot wait to go back. I recommend the potato and prawns

I have ordered takeaway from this place twice - it is soooooo nice! The red thai curries are amazing. My favourite dish is the Sabai vegetable wrap - it is amazing! Never tasted anything like it before. Would highly recommend. Its a bit expensive but definitely worth it.

Not so busy on a Sunday evening out of season but would recommend booking for Fri/Sat as with any of the good restaurants in Brighton. Very friendly and helpful staff happy to adapt dishes if necessary. Relaxed atmosphere in very calming surroundings. Very authentic dishes with all the usual favorites as well as a few specials.

My wife and I visited Sabai Thai for the first time recently and enjoyed a lovely meal. Be warned that the food can come out quite hot, even if you do advise them not to make it too spicy! The best thing is that the dishes are very reasonably priced - the only minor issue is that I would have... More
