We just wandered in, the place was fully booked so we ordered takeaway. The decor is kitschy, the folks a bit unsmiling, but you cant fault them on the food. The bhelpuri was great, and the thepla straight out of a typical Gujarati kitchen. Fresh, hot and delicious. My friend was happy with her matar paneer, jeera rice too. Not... More

I'd many reviews about Planet India and have been meaning to go in a while. Wasn't disappointed. The wine we had was lovely and was £12.95 which is very reasonable. The food was delicious and very fresh. The starter that everyone raves about (puffed corn, yoghurt, corriander etc) is amazing and I'm trying to recreate. Would definitely return!

Really enjoyed eating here last night. I loved the quirkiness of the restaurant and the family feel. Service was friendly and prompt, interesting range of beers and ales .........and the Dhai Bel Puri and samosas we had to start with were to die for! I'll be back :)

When I heard that we were going to eat at a vegetarian restaurant I baulked slightly being someone who loves meat. I needn't have worried! Food here was a revelation. I absolutely love Indian food. Whenever in the Bromley area I frequent the Shampan restaurants which are brilliant so I had a standard to judge Planet India by. Although chilly,... More

Firstly, I'd say I'm not a huge Indian food fan. Having said that I've had some terrific Indian meals in Brighton. This sadly wasn't one of them. The food was adequate. A little over spicy for me, but that's just personal taste. But the decor, clientele and the seating made it feel like I'd dropped in on a student squat.... More

Went here on a recommendation and was not disappointed. Small but excellent menu with lots of things I'd never seen before. All vegetarian or vegan. All delicious. Very friendly staff. Can recommend the pani puri!

Been meaning to try this place for ages and finally got there last night. So glad we finally made it. Had the Bhel Puri which was fresh, tasty, spicy, crunchy, (did I mention spicy?) and gorgeous! Also, two huge samosas with yoghurt and tamarind, also very tasty. Then we had the half and half black bean curry and potato curry... More

I have eaten here a few times and have to say the food and service are great. I used to buy Indian dishes from a convenience store the owner's parents ran in Upper Lewes Road, good Indian food at it's best.

I love this place! I had lived in Brighton for two years before I knew about it. It looks a bit quirky from the front with its Pink sign and its off the main road in an odd little parade but it is amazing. Its family run, vegetarian, authentic Indian food. Always busy and I recommend booking, even on a... More
