Consistency personified.

Not one person we've ever introduced to this place has walked away unsatisfied. You know what you are going to get, and how it will taste, and boy is it good. Traditional, non westernised indian food at its finest, run by wonderful family, who always seem to be smiling.

We visited early on a Tuesday evening in early March. Most restaurants in town were pretty empty, but not this place We were squeezed on to the only table for two. There was a buzzy atmosphere in this vibrant and homely carpeted dining area. The staff were friendly but very busy. This is not fine dining: metal beakers for tap water,... More

We visited here after work on a Thursday night on a friends recommendation. The food was tasty, with special mention going to their spicy popadoms. Only negatives were the speed that the mains came out after the starters (not allowing us much time to catch our breath let alone to let the food settle) and the fact if you order... More

I have been to Planet India three times in the past two years and never regretted. But recently I ordered a take away via D2go. I was sorry I spent 30 pounds on that..ketchoris were dry and with no chutney added, Mumbai potato was literally potato slices in a tomato sauce..taste like from a cheap curry house. Red lentil daal... More

We were invited to meet a friend for dinner there, She is a local and this was our first time there. Once again Brighton delivers another great vegetarian venue which makes my partner very happy. Starting with a good selection of beer and starters and for mains a selection of 2 courses on the one plate as an option. (Very... More

I was taken here recently by my lovely beau who'd heard good things about it from a colleague. It was a good job he'd booked a table - on the Saturday night we went it was very busy. I felt very at home, the staff were lovely and the whole ambience was unpretentious and welcoming. The food was good and... More

Very good and very authentic food - the dishes are truly regional and you can taste the difference. The service is very friendly and informative, we keep coming back regularly. On top of that the decor is great, very quirky and homey at the same time. In my experience it's one of the best if not The Best Indian restaurant... More

My Girlfriend and I rarely frequent one particular restaurant but we cant get enough of Planet India! being greeted by the owner in bare feet you are made to feel you have been invited for dinner at a friends house with family photos covering the walls and comfortable mismatched chairs. The food is great with great variety, home cooked and... More

I regret not knowing about this place before last year, what a gem,a very warm and cosey food place, the owner greeted us barefoot and showed us to our table, the decor is a collection of family pictures which makes it very personal, the menu is written with wit and honesty, basically the food is top notch, reasonably priced and very very tasty, drinks selection is not...
