Brighton friendly, relaxed, informal veggie Indian restaurant.

My wife and I visited Planet India in March 2015. The restaurant has an informal , friendly and relaxed vibe and was pretty full on a weekday evening. It's clearly a popular local restaurant. We shared a starter of Dhai Bhel Puri and each had a different main course. The starter was the highlight... read more

Warm welcome from the owner who was really helpful when I asked a couple of questions about how spicey particular dishes were. I like milder flavours and he took his time to advise me on what I might enjoy most. 2 starters, 2 mains and a bottle of the house white came to about £40 inc tip. Great value for... More

Love this restaurant. Great atmosphere, lovely staff, fantastic food from a small but well designed menu. No after-feeling of thirst or discomfort you sometimes get from spicy food. Very good value.

I have visited India three times in the last four months and in that time have experienced many veg only curries from a variety of city, street and beach venues. Apart from a few "mistakes" I have enjoyed the flavour, depth and tastes of the real India experience . I had high hopes on Saturday of a parallel experience in... More

My partner and I had a briiliant vegan dinner and our 12 year old girl (who is not even a vegetarian) enjoyed it too. Inexpensive - little bit of a walk out of town but well worth it.

I am a big fan of Planet India & try to eat there as often as I can because it is incredible. Food, service & atmosphere always spot on. Beer list excellent. Came here for my birthday with 14 friends recently & everyone (including devoted carnivores & Planet India newbies) was completely in awe. Thanks Planet India for never disappointing,... More

Not one person we've ever introduced to this place has walked away unsatisfied. You know what you are going to get, and how it will taste, and boy is it good. Traditional, non westernised indian food at its finest, run by wonderful family, who always seem to be smiling.
