Bella Italia Brighton couldn't ask for a better location within the vibrant southern seaside city. Situated in the charming area known as The Lanes, with its numerous antique shops and jewellers, Bella Italia offers both locals and visitors great Italian grub at accessible prices. Tuck into starters such as the mushrooms baked in mascarpone, spinach and garlic sauce with ciabatta followed by a 7oz sirloin steak with garlic butter, mushrooms, fried and rocket accompanied by a sauce of your choice. Round off with a classic banoffee pie with sprinkled amaretti biscuits and zabaglione cream. All this accompanied by a traditional Italian Peroni beer or a glass of Chianti. If you're looking for a good value Italian restaurant in Brighton, Bella Italia certainly fits the bill.

Not bad at all

Visited on a Saturday evening without booking first. Agree with other reviews that the waiting staff are a bit grumpy, but we were served quickly and efficiently, so it's not really a problem to me. When we came in, we were greeted with a moody atmosphere. The waitress told us we had to wait half an hour, which was fine but the waitress seemed grumpy serving us, instead of actually tasting the food (which I bet would have been delicious), my family decided not to eat here since the 'welcoming' was poor and not expected... I have never had the need to complain about this restaurant but the service and the food Sunday 24 May was absolutely dire! It was quite busy when we arrived but most were finishing up. We could see a couple of tables free but the waitress had to check to make sure they were not reserved. Anyway we were then... More

Make sure you don't get the moody waitress who, before even giving you a menu, mumbles something about only 1 vegetable soup being left, huffs and puffs when you ask what wine they have (no drinks menu given) and when you ask for a water to go with your lager, barks at you that she is serving another 'unfortunate' couples... Came here April 2015 with my husband and daughter who is 14 months. Turned up at 11.30 for lunch however they weren't serving yet but still seated us and gave us menus and drinks. Waiter we had was lovely and very friendly. Great meals for kiddies too. Our little girl ate everything! Would definitely come back!

We were in the area on Monday evening, looking for somewhere to take my grandparents to eat (about 8:30pm). As we walked past Bella Italia it didn't look too busy, so we thought we'd give it a try, but as my boyfriend opened the door a member of staff snapped "we're fully booked!" and walked off again. He didn't bother... More

My wife had been here the week before with a friend and was really impressed with the under 600 calorie pizza, so we gave it a go early Sunday evening before a festival event. It wasn't busy, but our abiding memory was the hour or so to wait to be served with anything to eat. The service was very friendly... More

Dinner stop with kids. Very kid friendly - why I stopped there. Kids menu - varied and good value. Colour pack on arrival. Pizza's very tasty, milkshakes - gr8t. Italian old world interior theme. Service efficient. Enjoyable.

Great restaurant but booked a table for three using 'bookatable' for Saturday at 5pm and, upon arrival, was told the booking had not been received. The Manager, who definitely needs some customer relations training, told us they had not received the reservation. We pointed out an empty table we could have but was told this was 'reserved' - I thought... More

This is my first review ever written. What did make me do this? The most disgusting meals We ever had. Soup of the day - sort of minestrone - tasteless, spaghetti amatriciana - pulp of pasta chucked on a plate like a wet mop, pizza - literally - the base had taste of an old, dry, cooking oil soaked pancake,...
