Locals and foodies mix in this delightfully bright and cheerful family-friendly food pub – a hidden gem, which has remained busy and buzzy since it opened six years ago. Something of a local institution, this fabulous pub serves good honest food, prepared with skill and passion. Beautifully prepared roast meals are served on Sundays from 12 to 6pm. With superb Sussex reared meats, a vegetarian and fish option as well as small portions for children, it’s hard to find a reason not to visit.

As a local it is disappointing that our local pub no longer our pub of choice. Ridiculous choice of un drinkable overpriced beers, expensive wines, uncomfortable stools to eat from. What is wrong with having one or two time honoured beers in amongst the sea of supposed "cool" craft beers. Decor predictable old fashioned,I would expect this in an expat bar... More

Having eaten some very poor meals recently in some much higher reviewed places in Brighton I was exceptionally impressed with the food at this pub. We ordered the sea bream and chicken main which were perfectly cooked, delicious and reasonably priced. Probably the best pub food iv had in my 4 years of living in Brighton.

Great local pub that has been going from strength to strength over the years. We came in for lunch on a Saturday with family who also live locally and were greated as always by the lovely team at the bar. Although it was busy it didn't take long to get our drinks order in and as always the team were... More

After it was recommended to me, I visited the Preston Park Tavern with a friend recently and have been back a couple of times since. It has a lovely atmosphere which is really relaxed and friendly, and the food is amazing. At first I thought it was a little pricey but when the food arrived, it was incredible - the... More

The selection of beer and wine is great, the food is superb as is the atmosphere. The bar staff however are on a completely different level - friendly, helpful and very welcoming. I've read some of the reviews on here and many are unfair and do not accurately reflect what is one of the best pubs in Brighton. My advice... More

This public house used to be a real locals haunt in a built up residential area but not any more. The staff are disinterested and the expensive craft beers are not a match to Harveys/Long Man beers. I am afraid the customers also have an 'undesirable' mix culminating in a fight between two men outside the pub yesterday evening in... More

Popped into an extremely busy pub for a quick bite to eat. We ordered fish and chips and mushy peas and sardines on toasted sourdough. We ordered at the bar and sat outside under a shaded area with a heater which was great because inside was stiflingly hot. The food had still not arrived a full half an hour later... More

Only been here once before since it changed hands and it was on a crowded Mother's Day last year. Didn't enjoy the experience compared to the previous owners set up. So it was with some trepidation that we decided to give it a go on a quiet Monday night. We were pleasantly surprised to get some Cornish lager and then... More

Tried to book a table for party of 5 for Friday evening but was told could only book for 6. I explained one member of the party was immobile and would not be able to stand and wait. I was then asked if one of our party was a child, I said yes(12). I was then told no children under... More
