Locals and foodies mix in this delightfully bright and cheerful family-friendly food pub – a hidden gem, which has remained busy and buzzy since it opened six years ago. Something of a local institution, this fabulous pub serves good honest food, prepared with skill and passion. Beautifully prepared roast meals are served on Sundays from 12 to 6pm. With superb Sussex reared meats, a vegetarian and fish option as well as small portions for children, it’s hard to find a reason not to visit.

Really great food

Tried to book a table for party of 5 for Friday evening but was told could only book for 6. I explained one member of the party was immobile and would not be able to stand and wait. I was then asked if one of our party was a child, I said yes(12). I was then told no children under... More

I went yesterday with some friends, really good food (I had the chicken sandwich). The service was good. My only criticism is that we were moved twice due to table bookings, they could have used a table that was free to reserve it rather than moving us

We went here on a Sunday evening looking for a roast, unfortunately this is only served until 6.30, but we've been wanting to try this pub since moving to the area so decided to give the evening menu a go. Positives are that this is a really nice friendly pub, very nice staff and a great selection of beers. Negatives... More

though the PPT isn't too bad inside, it does have the feel of a chain pub, the food is okay but expensive especially as there is a shortage of places to sit, if you don't fancy a stool. The back garden is okay, miss the herbs & strawberries they used to have, once again it's obviously a chain now. Like... More

Popped in last night ( Thursday ) for a meal and we both were not dissapointed at all, on arrival the place was buzzing and it was lovely and warm that matched with a lovely warm smile from the girls on the bar, we ordered our drinks and had a look at the new menu, I ordered the Scallops and... Went here twice whilst staying nearby. Great range of beers. Menu also good. Had the salmon curry with sticky rice. Others had the burgers which they would recommend. Staff young and friendly and polite. Diverse patrons. Enjoyed it so much the first time went back on another evening. Very impressed.
