Description: Locals and foodies mix in this delightfully bright and cheerful family-friendly food pub – a hidden gem, which has remained busy and buzzy since it opened six years ago. Something of a local institution, this fabulous pub serves good honest food, prepared with skill and passion. Beautifully prepared roast meals are served on Sundays from 12 to 6pm. With superb Sussex reared meats, a vegetarian and fish option as well as small portions for children, it’s hard to find a reason not to visit.

We live locally and like to support local enterprises. We ate here on Saturday afternoon and the bar staff seemed more interested in chatting to each other than serviing us. I asked for a gin and slimline tonic and was given ordinary tonic. When we ordered food the server typed in a beef burger when I asked for a chicken... More

Went there with my husband for a birthday dinner - hadn't realised it had changed hands. The food was good, but having to eat it at tiny tables, on stools rather than chairs & with blaring music totally ruined the evening. Also, despite the food being nice, it is very expensive given you're eating in a pub with no wait... More

This place was suggested to us as not from Brighton, pleased to say we were not disappointed. Modern pleasant Pub, Staff were friendly and helpful. We had roast lamb, and when this arrived the plate was full, the Lamb was a large portion almost like a steak, very tender, roast potatoes, roast vegetables, butternut, cauliflower cheese which was delicious, and... What a joy to now have somewhere close that we can pop into for just a drink without being interrogated as to whether we would be eating or not!. This is now a great venue for both drinking and eating. The PPT is now a proper pub again (fantastic) and it's also a very welcoming venue (happy staff) with lots... More

The Preston Park Tavern has been my favourite place to enjoy a Sunday Roast for a few years now. My fiancé and I thought we'd go for there for a quiet roast this Sunday to relax. I developed shock as I looked around and saw all the beautiful tasteful decoration had been replaced with cheap pub tat. I quickly realised... More

Myself and my partner have the happy coincidence of being located in the flats above the Preston Park Tavern. We are frequent visitors, we enjoy the friendly nature of the staff, the great selectition of ales and ciders, the lovely food we have had and the nice atmosphere. We could not have hoped to be so near such a lovely... More

We used to enjoy the former restaurant but there are plenty like it. This was needed in this area - a pub where you can just drop in and get a decent burger, chips etc. Decent cuppa even though you'd forgive them if it wasn't - being a pub. Prices not bad. Seats not very comfy but that was the... More

OK, yes, I know it has changed....but accept it, life is about change!! Get over it and move on. The old PPT served excellent meals, but it was a restaurant, not a pub. Nothing wrong with that, they were good at what they did and I/we enjoyed it while it was here. Now the PPT is a pub, you can... More

Living locally we used to love the PPT and would take friends and family there whenever they came to visit. Now it's some dodgy looking theme pub with an embarrassingly shoddy decor and annoyingly smug/rude staff to boot. Food is over-priced and you have to eat it at these little round tables that look like they are from the 1970s.... More

I've been to the PPT a few times since it reopened and must say I find it much improved and a great local pub for the community. It was previously more of a restaurant and now it's been redone with a proper pub feel and it's much more welcoming and probably the one of the best places locally for a... More
