Description: Locals and foodies mix in this delightfully bright and cheerful family-friendly food pub – a hidden gem, which has remained busy and buzzy since it opened six years ago. Something of a local institution, this fabulous pub serves good honest food, prepared with skill and passion. Beautifully prepared roast meals are served on Sundays from 12 to 6pm. With superb Sussex reared meats, a vegetarian and fish option as well as small portions for children, it’s hard to find a reason not to visit.

We had the Sunday lunch and it was brief to say the least. There are far better roasts to be had in Brighton at much better value. I felt completely underwhelmed as did my friends. Such a shame as we enjoyed eating there. Another customer gone.

Lived in the road for 4 years and always loved the fact that we had a gastro pub for us to enjoy, to which we used twice a month making use of the loyalty card as well. Waited in anticipation of the opening and finally had a meal and a drink. What a shame, what a great shame that it's... More

As a local resident we used to LOVE our local - the atmosphere and the food. Although it was a pub it was a bistro too - going here for dinner felt like an occasion. All that is now gone. It has been replaced by a dark dingy interior which is so cramped it is laughable. Small low round tables... More

What a travesty we used to love coming here for beautiful food and a lovely relaxed atmosphere. Every element of this pub that used to be good is gone. I'm now in mourning for the old PPT.

Live very close to Preston Park Tavern and enjoyed eating there at least once a week but no more. Gone is the gastro pub serving great food and wines in a bright and modern setting and instead it's been replaced with something that resembles the worst a chain can give you with decor that screams 1980s refit. The place was... More

Just walked into the pub and it is like a kinder garden!! Over run with screaming children & trash everywhere! Left for bus into town for a grown up pub!

Hoping for the best but was sadly disappointed. As local residents we frequently visited for food and drinks .i tried a snack , smoked mackerel with toast and pickled cucumber. When it came , it was burnt ciabatta with cucumber . When we questioned the dish we were told ' it was a typo on the menu and it's served... More

Went with an open mind as they have a hard act to follow. Staff very pleasant, smiley and welcoming. Decor isn't my taste but just an opinion not a criticism. What I don't get is why beer wine and food is more expensive than their other pubs?

We were real regulars to the PPT , eating on average three times a month so what a shame to go along with open minds to the newly refitted place and walk into an over styled pub atmosphere, dark and strewn with children's crayons and papers. It was 6.45 and there was one other customer at the dining ( if... More

First time I've been since it changed hands. Fish and chips - all batter no fish and what there was was watery plus soggy chips. Not what I had hoped it would be.
