A buzzing little restaurant

We only had coffee and wine in the restaurant but were impressed enough to decide that we will return to eat there. The service was good, the atmosphere on a Sunday early evening in the sunshine was excellent. The restaurant is more or less opposite The Dome Theatre, so it could be a good idea to... read more

We sat outside in georgous sunshine with a fabulous glass of Rioja and a delicious plate of tapas. The Spanish were eating here too which would indicate the authenticity of the menu. We will be back for sure.

Avoid the house wine, it's awful. Food is blatantly from LIDL or ALDI and authentically Spanish in that it's either dried out or covered in grease. A fabulous business model but not a nice meal, toilet broken, you have to pay for bread and the service is not great. The ladies serving were working hard but it there weren't enough... More

If there is one thing I hate more than bad service, it's no service at all! Sure it was a busy Thursday night but there were a couple of free tables when we walked in and when we asked for a table for 2 the (clearly) stressed waiter said rather abruptly, 'you can sit there if you want'. We sat... More

We had a reservation at a popular restaurant in Brighton but walking down bustling Church Street in the evening sun we spotted a table for two on the pavement, grabbed it and cancelled the original booking. Made a bad mistake. Although appreciating the fact this is a small tapas bar on a busy street we were left sitting for half... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our evening last night. Had a beautiful bottle of rose, and 5 wee plates that were all delightful. Really worth a visit. We will definitely be back

although we'd been to Brighton a few times before, we decided to wing it and hadn't booked anywhere for dinner on Saturday night: a schoolboy error! We were wandering around looking for somewhere and found this place. We walked in and it was rammed, so we expected to be told they were full, but they found a table for us.... More

I've come to Bodega now about 4-5 times and have found it to be a little slice of Spain in the Brighton town centre. The food is excellent and sourced lovingly and includes two of my favourite recipes/ingredients from the asturuan region of Spain. Namely the fantastic blue/green cheese cabrales (you can choose to have it on its own or... More

We visited La Bodega today, for the first time, trying to find somewhere to eat on a Sunday evening. The food was fantastic - much more traditional and earthy flavours than many high-street tapas bars in the UK. They also have a nice selection of wines. Service was good, but not exceptional, as the staff seemed keen to close for... More
