Reminds me of Spain

Tiny little place, very cramped and casual seating. Food was cooked to order in the tiny little kitchen behind the bar and served by a single waitress. As three tables were occupied, she had trouble getting to me as not much room to circulate. I was very strongly reminded of a 'greasy spoon... read more

The food is obsolutely shocking, it's all rather badly reheated, I complained about my papas bravas being reheated and gewey, they were replaced with anther bowl of gewey reheated pototoes. What is worse, it that you would need 4-5 tapas per person to get a substantial amount of food, and this is not cheap.

Four of us , last minute, told we could eat but would be a little bit squashed, had a great tapas, cosy, very casual and informal creating a good atmosphere.

First time in here: poor waitress was on her own. Hassled and too much to do. They'd run out of potatoes (!) We had to ask for one of our dishes three times before it came. It was a daily special and sadly it was revolting. A slab of warm squid tube covered in marie rose sauce with a few... More

Love this place as the food was fresh, homemade and delicious. Instead of your normal deep fried patatas bravas they used sliced potatoes with homemade sauce. The russian salad was nicely presented and full of flavour too. We only stopped by for a few tapas but would definitely go back to try more not he menu as the food taste;s... More

We went there prior to a comedy gig. The good part friendly service, bit haphazard, but the one waitress had a lot to cover. Nothing to recommend the food, chorizo in sherry, figs in bacon, just bad, eatable ensalladila rusa, fabada ok, but doubt it was cooked on the premises. I cannot recommend this place.

Eaten here a few times - on each occasion I have enjoyed the meal, sometimes just a bit, sometimes a lot. It's a simple tapas bar and ideal for a snack meal before going out

Nice and small place. Attractive Spanish decoration. I had a dinner with my bf and was good. The food wasn't incredible but was good anyway. Padron peppers a bit burned and a lot of garlic with the prawns. Really nice staff and great idea to sell Spanish products. My bf was really happy with that.

Whether you are wanting a pre-theatre wine or a tasty tapas style dinner, La Bodega in Brighton offers a cosy and intimate bistro experience. I love sitting out the back in the mini courtyard, reminiscent of my time spent in European back gardens. Tasty seafood, olives and omelettes. Delicious and simple.

Good food, good wine, good service. A great evening :) the calamari and goats cheese were my favourite and such a lovely atmosphere!
