Fantastic restaurant

We wouldn't have normally eaten here as it looks a little dated inside and out. However a local recommended it, so we thought we'd give it a go. We're so grateful we did, what a fantastic place, in terms of the food, the service, the friendly staff. If you're looking for fish and chips, you have... read more

Incredible food, fair prices, and great service. They made me feel at home even though I'm thousands of miles away from my home in the States. I'm sure I'll be back at least once more before I leave Brighton.

We had a mini break away to Brighton and before we went home decided that we needed to eat fish and chips over looking the sea with a pint! And thats what we did. Food was lovely and the service was quick and friendly. Throughly enjoyed by all

I passed in front of this restaunrant and though, is it good? After a quick look online I decide it worthed try. It didn't let medown, very fresh sea food for reasonable price, food was absolutely amazing. First night (I went again the night after) I had musels, a huge sea bass and tow glasses of house white wine (good... More

If the locals use it, it is usually good. I had probably the best lobster thermidor I have had anywhere in the world, and the garlic prawns were fab too. It looks like a backstreet Parisian brasserie (compliment)/outdated 70's restaurant, but what an absolute gem. You are so lucky Brightonians!

We stopped outside to read the menu and were almost press ganged inside and sat at a table. My partner had the seafood platter which was lovely, I had the mixed grill that was served with a very long hair in it and returned! I then had lemon cheesecake, another mistake. It was sloppy and tasteless. The over enthusiastic owner/waitress... More

I've coming to this restaurant for years. In the height of summer it turns out fish and chips by the ton and you can eat it in the small street terrace just outside the front door. The rest of the year you go inside, and if the fancy takes you, you can order the delights of salmon, seabass or dover... More

Visited this restaurant for the first time yesterday on a day trip to Brighton. We were warmly welcomed by what obviously looks to be a 'family affair' running this restaurant. Don't be put off by the rather dated décor and furnishing - it just adds to the really charming atmosphere. We decided to have the Sunday Roast special ( lamb.)... More

We went to Brighton for the day, and were passing this restaurant and paused to look at what people sitting outside were having. The restaurant was busy so we waited for 10 minutes for a table outside. Well worth it! The oyster was delicious and the fish fresh and tasty. Staff are very friendly. Though I wasn't impressed by the... More

we walked around this area on a late sunday evening in hope for a sunday roast. we saw the sign out on the road and swiftly made the decision to eat here. it might be more popular for seafood but the beef and lamb roasts were tasty and done the job just right. no fancy presentation but we wanted simple...
