Description: Considered by many to be Brightons best restaurant, backed up by its status as the highest scoring local dining room in the Good Food Guide, The Restaurant at Drakes is an elegantly stylish setting for any occasion. Subtle lighting casts moody shadows across exposed brickwork and rich colours throughout the intimate dining room while Drakes cocktail bar offers airy sea views and excellent cocktails. The kitchen team insist on the best of ingredients, fresh and seasonal, including fish bought daily from local fishing boats, to create the excellent, refined menu that has earned the restaurant two AA rosettes. A special place, unpretentious in its warm atmosphere, its easy to see why The Restaurant at Drakes has such a reputation.

The bar for pre dinner drinks is very intimate and you do not feel at all intimidated if you are the first of a group to arrive and are waiting alone which can often be the case in other restaurants. Service was lovely with care and attention to detail. Food was wonderful with a lovely choice on the menu and... More

For a romantic meal and a special occasion. The food is imaginative and slightly different. The service was excellent and discreet but timely and efficient. The portions are small but so tasty and they bring out little tasters between the courses too. £60 each for a 3 course meal with a savoury and sweet extra and sharing a bottle wine.

Great but unobtrusive service. Good wine list, and the food was, as before, the best in Brighton. We had the a la carte evening meal. Previously we have had the Chef's tasting menu with wine which is an experience no-one should miss.

We booked this restaurant online without knowing what to expect whilst on a weekend break and we were delighted the service and the quality of food were amazing, the restaurant and cocktail bar compliment each other so well and the service flawless. We walked from our hotel at the other end of the sea front but it was well worth... More

We made use of a private dining room for lunch for 6 of us. The food was exquisite, I love the attention to detail and this was fine dining at its best. Great fresh fish for the main course but it was the sum of the whole meal that makes it a must if you are in Brighton. The amuse... More

We had the chefs tasting menu (which comprised of five courses, amuse bouche, pre-dessert and petit fours) plus the matched wines. The food was absolutely delicious and the service efficient and informative without being overbearing. Value for money is unbelievable considering the quality of the food and experience.

Very small basement restaurant but good quality food that was presented very well. Reasonable wine list from £25. Good value lunch menu with 2 courses for £20. We had the full menu which was £30 for 2 courses or £40 for 3. We thought £10 was a bit steep for dessert as that was the one course we didn't enjoy... More

Just in terms of the restaurant as the hotel is good, my family and I found the restaurant like many in Brighton to be too expensive for what it is. It is good food, it is nicely presented and the service is good, but it's not amazing food and portions are typically small. I feel the price should reflect what... More

This place was so over priced and pretentious that I can't actually be bothered to write a proper review. People who have given this place favourable reviews know nothing about a good dining experience.

Came here with my family for my graduation, it was a perfect celebration! Great atmosphere and even better food! It's given me a taste for sweetbreads - something I thought I would never try! Thank you!
