Apart from it being a wonderul tasting experience, the service was very friendly and professional. We had the tasting menu so had quite a few dishes. They are not particularly big but a couple of additional dishes are also brought to you, (as well as the lovely, different breads) so the meal is very filling indeed. Creatively and art was... More

Four of us went for lunch on Saturday. The food was absolutely delicious. The portions are on the smaller side but when they taste that good who cares. We all had three courses and loved everything we had. The only surprise was that we were the only table for the whole of lunch. It meant the service was great but... More

Had a lovely dinner here in the private dining room. The food was nice and not too mucked about with. There was one dish that had foam on trying to be "Heston". The service was very good and attentive.

Whereas I am more than content to eat in hotel restaurants in France and Belgium I have a deep suspicion of such arrangements in Britain where there is a much stronger connection between ownership and quality but I have found the exception which proves the rule. Drake's Restaurant in the basement of a boutique Brighton sea-front hotel is a place... More

My husband found this restaurant and I decided to take him for his birthday but being December they were fully booked for the evening so we went at lunchtime and had the three course menu at £25 a head. The waiter was friendly but not over familiar and the service was attentive without it feeling as though you were being... More

Went here for our small Christmas party (just two of us!) on the recommendation of friends. We both had scallops to start which were really very delicious, but from then on it was all went a little bit meh. Technically the food was very good, presentation was great, cooked well, but was just lacking something important - flavour. For mains... More

I cannot believe this restaurant is only rated 52nd in Brighton, however, perhaps people go for very cheap options here. It is a little hard to find on the Marine Parade as the sign work is understated for the hotel and the restaurant, but once found it was worth the trip even on a freezing, foggy December lunch time- a... My wife and I had a rare night away from the kids and chose this as a nice romantic restaurant with good food and we were not disappointed! Nice touches like the unexpected pate to start and the Amuse-Bouche between main and desert were lovely. Value wise it was outstanding. The only annoying thing was the couple on the table... More
