My wife, I and her 93 year mother went to this restuarant as wedding guests of our neice recently. The meal was sumpuous and gormet with a capital G. I have never tasted such mouthwatering scallops or lamb that melted in the mouth as these disheswere. They were beautifully presented and graciously served. Without a doubt one of the best... More

Fab restaurant, great service, wine was delicious, but the steak was the best. A whole copper pan of béarnaise and just the right amounts of everything. The steak itself for so tender and perfectly cooked. Treat yourself!

My Daughter, who is a catering student, had sourced out this restaurant in Brighton for our stay, well what can we say! The food was amazing, the staff were equally amazing, couldn't do enough for you, my Daughter spoke to one of the staff and he was so enthusiastic and helpful she is excited on her journey!

I was so disappointed with the meal tonight. Having read good reviews I chose to come here for my birthday. It is certainly over rated. The atmosphere and smell of cooking on entering the dingy basement restaurant was off putting. I was looking forward to the advertised tasting menu but when reading it I realised that it was not a... We had a lovely meal here for our anniversary. The food is really delicious and the staff are very knowledgeable about the food and the wine as I didn't know which main course to choose and they really knew a lot about the food that was served. Really liked the turbot and the butternut squash risotto.

Great choice of breakfast, I had a small fruit salad, delicious creamy yoghurt, followed up by eggs Florentine. A little heavy handed with the Hollandaise, which made it super rich, but delicious all the same.

We had an excellent dinner at Drakes; great food and friendly helpful service. I chose the pea soup to start, which was much better than I expected, with crunchy slices of pea pod to set off the tasty soup. Scallops were cooked to perfection, as were the lamb and steak main courses. By this time we were fairly full but... More

A lovely meal for two, on a Friday night. We had cocktails beforehand in the upstairs bar, and then moved downstairs for dinner. We had the 5 course tasting menu, which really was actually 7 courses, AND they were normal sized portions! We were SO full. Can't complain because the food, service and ambience was perfect. But wow, you almost... More

I booked Drakes Hotel as a surprise for my husbands 40th birthday and was hesitant to book the same place to eat, but I'm so glad I did. It was a lovely small restaurant with a relaxed but formal atmosphere and perfect for the celebration. We had a couple of lovely cocktails in the bar and then an amazing meal...even... More

Booked Drakes as had read good reviews. I have to admit the first impression was not what I had been anticipating! The facade of the building is very average, and looks like very many of the other seafront properties, the second impression too of going down the staircase into the basement was not how I'd imagined the place! However, on... More
