Considered by many to be Brightons best restaurant, backed up by its status as the highest scoring local dining room in the Good Food Guide, The Restaurant at Drakes is an elegantly stylish setting for any occasion. Subtle lighting casts moody shadows across exposed brickwork and rich colours throughout the intimate dining room while Drakes cocktail bar offers airy sea views and excellent cocktails. The kitchen team insist on the best of ingredients, fresh and seasonal, including fish bought daily from local fishing boats, to create the excellent, refined menu that has earned the restaurant two AA rosettes. A special place, unpretentious in its warm atmosphere, its easy to see why The Restaurant at Drakes has such a reputation.

Visited Wednesday, quite busy for mid-week, pleasant staff, had the Chef's 5 course dinner which with add-ons became 7 courses. Each course was excellent, as were the wines that accompanied each course. The only criticism I would have is that although the waiter started well by showing the bottle... read more

Ate here as a party of 4 on a Thursday night at 8pm. We arrived after having made a reservation earlier that day however they had no record of our reservation (perhaps cos we'd called the wrong restaurant-oooops), anyway it wasn't a problem and we were given a table. We all ordered off the set menu. I had the crab... More

Drakes Hotel is a little bit quirky because it tries to squeeze so much into a very confined space. The cocktail bar, for example, is also the hotel reception. Dinner here however was really excellent. A few weeks ago I dined at a one star Michelin in Dublin and frankly Drakes beat it hands down. I really wonder how consistent... More

What a fantastic and memorable meal - the service was fantastic and fun throughout. All the dishes were fabulous, beautifully presented and tasted great. The wine (Chateau Sainte Michelle Syrah 2011) was listed on the menu as the restaurant's favourite and we loved it so much, we bought a half case when we got home. The cocktail bar is also... More

A great lunch! Beautiful cod, and good service. Happy to recommend to anyone! Will probably return to this hidden gem in Brighton,, even if it did take a while to find somewhere to park- it was worth the walk!

We had a lovely meal here in Easter Friday. We booked earlier in the week. The staff were warm and welcoming. They provide insight into the menu and gave recommendations. We were given extra little taster courses which were unique and nice. The beef fillet was incredible melt in your mouth, I can't recommend it enough!

We celebrated our 33rd wedding anniversary with lunch at The Restaurant at Drakes. I booked a couple of weeks in advance but the restaurant was quiet as it turned out. The staff were very welcoming, very attentive but allowed us enough time to rest between courses. our waitress Radka, couldn't have been lovelier. And then there was the food. Fantastic,... More

Very good food served by attentive staff. A must go to dining room. Enjoy an inventive cocktail in the bar before hand
