Late night meal

After finishing work late we were looking for some food . We tried 3 places only to be turned away as the kitchens had closed... At 10pm in the middle of peak season in Brighton... Baffles me. However, this cosy Italian on a side street in Brighton was full with just a table for 2 left for us. The... read more

The best lasagne and tiramisu I've eaten. Portion size was plentiful, lasagne was very hot so stayed hot until finished. There was a special two course menu but it was starter and main. I don't do starters as I prefer dessert, shame the menu doesn't allow diner to choose which two courses to have.

This was our second visit to La Capannina, as we were so impressed last time. A cosy, traditional family run Italian. Very romantic, with candles on the table. Prices are reasonable and the portions are generous. Would definitely recommend to anyone. Would also suggest booking, as it's popular.

Had a lovely meal, for starter we had olives and garlic bread. Main course I had spaghetti carbonara and linguine gamoboni which was amazing!! Recommend! The atmosphere was great and the house white was was a perfect complement to the main. Will be back soon. Thank you.

I love this place- good, honest, no-frills Italian. It's close to Brighton Pier, just off the lively and diverse St James's Street. The pizza is delicious and it is cosy, comfortable and friendly. It's often busy, despite a spacious seated area downstairs as well as the small dining room overlooking the street. It's probably best to book.

We ate at La Capannina six times during our holiday in Brighton - a base for our South Downs national trail walk. We had good food and wine with good choices. Service was very good and the atmosphere was nice.

This gem is a must Family run with a huge menu but all at reasonable prices The fire oven pizza are highly recommended and can be purchased as a take-away Outside seating in fine weather Best to book as it is small and gets busy, for a reason. It's so good! The tiramisu is worth a visit alone

We went here for a Saturday evening dinner with two young children and the staff couldn't have been more friendly...the food was fresh and authentic, with some superb specials. Pizzas made in a stone fire oven and would go back again as plenty to choose from.

Small Italian restaurant providing good traditional authentic food at a reasonable price. My husband said the Pasta was excellent and I had chicken with dolchelata cheese and cream sauce which was delicious. Price for both meals and a bottle of good house wine was £43.

This is a little Italian gem tucked away down a small street off Brighton's seafront near the Big Wheel. Food is excellent, service polite and friendly and prices competitive. If you are looking for a genuine Italian restaurant for lunch or dinner among the bewildering range of eating establishments that Brighton has to offer, do yourself a favour, cut the... More
