Description: A Lebanese and Persian restaurant on Brightons busy Western Road, Taste of Sahara gives seaside dwellers a taste of the exotic at a very reasonable price. With its dcor created with care to reflect the atypical Middle East of story books and holiday brochures all pierced tin lanterns, heavy wood and rich colours Taste of Sahara has a look which reflects the diverse flavours of its immensely flavourful menu. From kebabs to tagines, all ones Middle Eastern favourites are offered by the Sahara kitchen, along with some lesser known dishes that will tempt the more adventurous diner. In particular, the restaurants mezzes prove popular, the sharing concept somehow suited to this kind of cuisine, particularly when accompanied by the BYO policy.

We were unsure about Sahara when we were looking for a meal out, but it's safe to say this is our new favourite restaraunt in Brighton. Incredible food and atmosphere with fantastic service! The whole family loved it and even the kids are desperate to go again, highly recommended!

Pleasant, small-ish restaurant that is evidently popular - it was a good job we had booked because this place gets full quickly. We were very tempted by the meze option, but in the end chose tasty individual starters (Batata Harra and stuffed vine leaves) to leave enough room for the generously proportioned tagines (served with fantastic flavoursome Lebanese bread) to... It was my first visit and as soon as I walked in with my gf we were welcome by a Man that I believe to be the manager. We brought our on wine and order some halloumi to start with, for main we had lamb tajine an chicken tajine! Very tasty, generous portion! I will definitely go back! Great food,... More

went here on Saturday due to the comments on trip advisor and I can honestly say I could not fault this restaurant would definitely go back but you really do need to try and book unless you are going in the afternoon.

Stumbled across Sahara as we'd booked a nearby theatre. Staff were very friendly and welcoming and the food was beautifully presented and delicious. We chose the meze banquet which allowed us to sample all the starters and that was plenty for us. Warmly recommended.

My wife and I visited on 29-Oct for an early evening meal (on recommendation from friends). The food and service was great and we wouldn't hesitate to return and sample more of the menu. It was busy and there was a lovely atmosphere about the place, many people appeared to be regulars. A great independent restaurant, well worth a visit.

We're spoilt for choice in Hove and as a result kept walking past this place. I'm glad that last night we didn't! The mezze starter for two was fantastic and should be a must order. We'll be back.

Have been here twice in the space of a month now! First decided to visit this restaurant with my boyfriend when seeing good reviews, as soon as you enter you are welcomed by the friendly staff and the decor and atmosphere takes you straight to the middle east. The restaurant is BYOB with no corkage charge, which is great and... More

On the basis of just a single visit - for subtle tasting and absolutely freshly prepared food this place is hard to beat. They grill fish to perfection, serve a rich tasting tagine, and their plum and almond tart pudding was to die for. Not fancy but elegant, comfortable and relaxed despite being clearly immensely popular. They know how to... More
