Description: Located on Paston Place in the heart of Kemp Town village, Sam's of Brighton is a stone's throw from the Brighton Pier and the Marina. Sister restaurant to Sam's of Sevendials in the heart of Brighton, this chic and elegant family-owned bistro - with an understated neutral colour scheme, wooden floors and deco-inspired lamps - is popular with a fashionable local crowd. Sam's serves classic yet creative dishes made from the finest seasonal ingredients, and the restaurant's award-winning menu features favourites such as the Shetland rope-grown mussels with spiced coconut, vanilla, and red peppers; roast rabbit loin served with soft polenta and savoy cabbage; and the rice pudding with blood orange for dessert. Sam's also has an excellent selection of both old and new world wines, many available by the glass and carafe. Sam's of Brighton was voted "Runner Up BEST UK NEWCOMER" by the Harden's Guide 2010.

Very nice looking venue but pricey food. This is a great looking venue and you could easily loose an afternoon here helped along with a couple of glasses of wine. I had the cod, which for nearly £18, was possibly the smallest filet I've ever had. The food was fine, but didn't blow me away. Also a bit peeved to... More

Many if not most restaurants in Brighton are overhyped and overpriced probably because they receives thousands of non repeat tourists a year and repeat local business is not important. I have never understood why people claim Brighton is blessed with loads of good restaurants - they are in fact few and far between. Sam's is an exception.Well worth the walk... More

I have visited Sam's twice in the past month having just moved into the area. Our first visit was late on a Sunday afternoon and having missed the rush the restaurant was quite quiet. The food was amazing! We all ate three courses and had a lovely time with some great wine! Sam made time to speak to us and... More

Food here is very expensive and as a result i expect first class food. My husband had a truly awful reheated chicken risotto complete with sharp, broken chicken bones. My porton was tiny and i left feeling hungry.

I went to this restaurant with a friend to take my mind off some bad news, and we could not have made a better choice. Sam's was in the book of recommended restaurants in our hotel, and we were quite surprised to find a restaurant in that location, it seemed mainly like a residential area. The decor is so interesting,... More

My partner and I thought we'd give this a try because of five years' Michelin stickers and overall favourable reviews. It was a no-pressure night as we were one of only two tables of two. We opted for the "set menu" (available 6 - 7 pm) which had two choices of starter, two of mains and an optional off-the-carte pudding.... More

Hi are Sunday dinner here with my husband and friend, I had rare beef and my hubby had duck. The service was good, friendly relaxed atmosphere, good menu choice. I may have scored higher but the rare beef was quite tough in places and it needed a sharper knife really. In all honesty I never asked for a different knife... More

I've had a good Sunday lunch here twice in the past few weeks. Good food, nice relaxed ambience, and very competitive prices.
