Located on Paston Place in the heart of Kemp Town village, Sam's of Brighton is a stone's throw from the Brighton Pier and the Marina. Sister restaurant to Sam's of Sevendials in the heart of Brighton, this chic and elegant family-owned bistro - with an understated neutral colour scheme, wooden floors and deco-inspired lamps - is popular with a fashionable local crowd. Sam's serves classic yet creative dishes made from the finest seasonal ingredients, and the restaurant's award-winning menu features favourites such as the Shetland rope-grown mussels with spiced coconut, vanilla, and red peppers; roast rabbit loin served with soft polenta and savoy cabbage; and the rice pudding with blood orange for dessert. Sam's also has an excellent selection of both old and new world wines, many available by the glass and carafe. Sam's of Brighton was voted "Runner Up BEST UK NEWCOMER" by the Harden's Guide 2010.

Great service. Suggested menu choices were absolutely scrumptious and atmosphere was spot on. Even more kudos to them as I was a last minute walk in!

I have been wanting to try Sam's for while so was really pleased that they had chosen to be included on the Brighton Food Trail (part of the Brighton Food Festival). When we arrived there were several people gathered outside who advised us they were closed. There was no notice in the window advising us why (and therefore obviously no... More

Dear Customer, We send our sincerest apologies for the late opening on Monday for the Kemp Town Food Trail. It certainly wasn't our intention to upset customers with our lateness. We would really like to make this up to you. Please call the restaurant to discuss this further. Best Wishes. More

One of the best bits of the Steine in Festival time is the Spiegletent for The Fringe. And aside the amazing acts, the food is equally good this year is Sam's pop-up restaurant. Fab lamburgers, fish cakes, asparagus and steaks. But for me the boudin noir sausage rolls were to die for. And then the desserts, I loved the lemon... More

Found ourselves choosing this Kemptown option as most central Brighton restaurants were fully booked. So glad we did! This smart, yet relaxed venue was a little gem. From start (the signature Kemptown Bandit aperitif!) to finish, the service was friendly, the food was delicious and the ambience perfect for our combined birthday and anniversary celebration. Our return to Brighton via... More

We were due to attend as part of the Brighton festival food trail which ran from 2pm to 5pm. At 2.20 the premises were closed. We rang and were told "I'll be there in 5 minutes" - nobody was. Ten minutes later we bumped into some other people on the trail, they rang and were told "I'll be there in... More

Went for a friends birthday (only 5 of us so nothing major) and from start to end it was pretty rubbish! Our starters didn't come until an hour after being there, our mains came (well most of them) fairly quickly after starters finished which was fine but 2 people got the wrong order! Then took 25 minutes for them to... More

We love going to Sam's. Every time never fails to amaze us with the quality of the food and the service. Four course meal and coffee just over £90 for two of us is an absolute bargain. Thanks Sam keep up the good work. Claire and AJ Antilles

We had a most memorable meal at Sam's. The food was delious, it was beautifully presented and the portions were generous. The drinks menu was comprehensive with some really unusual cocktails. The service was great and the deserts were to die for! And to top it all we got major discount with our Taste Card. Our tummies are very satisfied... More

Really delicious Sunday lunch in a relaxed atmosphere. The food was absolutely gorgeous and presented beautifully. My only small compliant was our wine was left off our bill which we pointed out rather than just keeping quiet and not paying for. A nice gesture for this honesty would have been to only charge for half or offer a free drink... More
