Description: Located on Paston Place in the heart of Kemp Town village, Sam's of...
Located on Paston Place in the heart of Kemp Town village, Sam's of Brighton is a stone's throw from the Brighton Pier and the Marina. Sister restaurant to Sam's of Sevendials in the heart of Brighton, this chic and elegant family-owned bistro - with an understated neutral colour scheme, wooden floors and deco-inspired lamps - is popular with a fashionable local crowd. Sam's serves classic yet creative dishes made from the finest seasonal ingredients, and the restaurant's award-winning menu features favourites such as the Shetland rope-grown mussels with spiced coconut, vanilla, and red peppers; roast rabbit loin served with soft polenta and savoy cabbage; and the rice pudding with blood orange for dessert. Sam's also has an excellent selection of both old and new world wines, many available by the glass and carafe. Sam's of Brighton was voted "Runner Up BEST UK NEWCOMER" by the Harden's Guide 2010.

As wonderful as ever!

This is my favourite restaurant in the UK. I always book when coming to visit my daughter in Brighton. The food is always superb, the food and bread is freshly made every day by the chef and the menu changes regularly. This is how good food should be, but rarely found. Dropped in on a Sunday evening with few expectations having chanced upon this place. Only had main course, Rib Eye, was cooked to perfection and put together as a very nice dish. Service was good (friendly and fuss free) and the restaurant had a relaxed atmosphere. We didn't have dessert but there were interesting choices on the menu (save for... More

Excellent Sunday roast, lovely bread, food cooked to perfection and desserts (huge so maybe share sticky toffee pudding) fantastic. Great service. Lucky to get a table as called late. (Only complaint counter top under the floral display dusty and was next to our table)

We travelled down from Norfolk for a Sunday dinner after hearing great things about Sam's and we certainly weren't disappointed. After trying the Kemptown Bandit's we were off to a great start, and the food that followed was fantastic (rilletes for starters, two beed roasts, steak and seabass for main and then the sticky toffee pudding, chocolate mousse and pear... We enjoyed our lunch at Sam's apart from a really unfortunate incident at the end which we'll put down to the inexperience of the staff. We were fans of Ollie from his time in Wimbledon & on a trip to Brighton, decided to try his new venture out. Very similar to what he'd been doing previously but more emphasis on... More

This was the second of a number of restaurants recommended by the hosts at the hotel where we were staying. It was a Saturday and when I phoned they said they were fully booked before saying they'd squeeze us in somewhere; we were given a table just inside the window looking out onto the street. Based on our experience I... More

First and last visit. We've been looking forward to trying Sam's, as the reviews are rather good and it often looks full. When we walked in for a late lunch on Sunday we thought we were lucky to be seated as "We hadn't booked, and we really should have booked." So we got the Awkward table (labelled by the waitress)... This was our first visit to Sam's and will certainly not be our last. The food was excellent and the service relaxed but remained professional. £24.50 for three exceptional courses on a Sunday lunchtime represented amazing value for money. Each course was extremely tasty and generous in portions and we both agreed that overall the meal had been one of... More

I'm a little bit disappointed. We got a GroupOn deal for 2 mains and 2 starter, which we used on a quarter filled restaurant on a Thursday night. The starters arrived before our wine did, which already started things off badly. I also got the wrong main delivered, though I accepted it anyway. Food was delicious but it was missing... More

Currently sat hugging my full belly but still wondering why I didn't get a desert! The food here is delicous and is served in the perfectly laid back ambience where you wouldn't feel it too fancy to bring your kids while still giving off the vibe for an impressive date night. The venison burger starter caused many a tasty groans... More
