Most authentic Japanese food in Brighton

A great holiday in Japan 2 months ago has left me seeking the most authentic Japanese dining closer to home and Murasaki in Brighton is winning so far. A good menu selection brings together a range of typical Japanese dishes (though these would not be found all in the same place in Japan). The... read more

We have eaten here before and the food is OK, but the seating is awful - very uncomfortable and cramped. The last occasion we have booked for lunch as we had to go on to the cinema. Arrived at the restaurant to find a notice pinned to the door saying that they had to close. It turned out there was... More

Title say it all, get a takeaway bento box an you won't regret it. My personal recommendation would be the curry pork udon bento box. The other great thing is that every time I've ordered the food has arrived on time or early.

and never going again! Sushi sub-standard, rice falling apart on all 3 visits. As for the Red haired girl that works there, greet, smile, apologise and learn how to serve properly. Having said that you can only really blame the owners but if they don't hear it here.. i'd expect no change such a shame as i walk past it... More

The food was very tasty with a lovely variety. Smallish portions. The atmosphere was good.. The waiter started well by asking our group of 6 if we wanted to order together. Great to be asked so making the bill easier. Then he appeared very disorganized with no explanation or apology as to why one of us still hadn't had our... More

First thing first, this was from the takeaway and not the restaurant. I would like you to contact me directly to organise the return of my change please. Just because I gave you £30 for a £22 order it does not mean that the rest was a tip, rushing off and getting back in the car is not an excuse,... More

Not much more to add other than go for a some starters, bit of variety with your mains, pay attention to the specials board and try the belly pork. I'm not overly fussed about waiters smiling or not and dishes coming one or two at a time. It's good food and it ends up on your table. Enjoy it

It is a real shame that the standards, taste and freshness of food have seriously dropped since I last had a take away from this place (which is a while ago). This review is about the take away on Montpelier Place. Both of our main courses on our bento boxes were not quite right - either too bland in taste... More
