I've been there twice in a week, the food is good and it isn't expensive. The service has to improve But we spent two good evenings in murasaki.

Firstly - my partner and I have been going to Murasaki for years, bringing friends and family with us. Now, the service has never been spectacular - the food comes out quickly enough, but the drinks are always slow to arrive; you might get the odd smile, but you'll not be greeted warmly when you walk in, or even at... This is not a high end restaurant but the food is honest and good and not too expensive. There is lots of choice including sushi and sashimi and it's we'll worth a visit. It's situated just off seven dials and if you are lucky you can park opposite in the evening.

I wish I'd seen the reviews on Ta before ordering from the takeaway but had assumed because the restaurant was so delicious the quality would be high. After 4 days of suffering with food poisoning I can tell you it most definitely isn't. The takeaway shop looks very unkempt and I wish I'd trusted my instincts before eating the food... More

Murasaki restaurant, right on seven dials, might as well be a completely different business from the takeaway place above western road. The restaurant is one of my favourite places in Brighton... the takeaway is one of my least favourites! Food is delicious and well priced. If you want a takeaway and are not fussed with sushi or sashimi, goto pompoko.... More

OK, I'm not an expert on Japanese food but I love this place. It is very small but the food is really good and the service friendly. There's something about this restaurant that's very relaxing after a long day or after seeing a film at the Duke of York's. Well worth a try if you like Japanese food, particularly if... More

Ate at Murasaki with friends last night, we had been many times before but it was the first time for our friends who really enjoyed it. Highly recommend the satsuma age, a type of Japanese fishcake which was fantastic and I always like the yakitori. Service was pretty quick for a Saturday night between 7 and 8 and they serve... More

Overall the food was a bit bland and not very authentic Japanese. The "Japanese tapas" on the menu tastes like deep fried frozen food. Also be warned that the takeaway is not at 7 dials, it's about a 10 min walk down to Waitrose!

We order a take away pretty much every Saturday from Murasaki, and on Friday we thought we would try the restaurant. Not disappointed, the food was delicious and very well presented, we shared a lot of dishes, from sashimi to specialties, the bill was very reasonable and the service impeccable. Compliments to the chef and see you again soon. Dom... More

We've ordered a few times from here and both times it's taken over an hour for delivery. Last sunday they quoted 45 mins - an hour. After an hour still no food. I had a phone call from the restaurant at 1 hr 15 mins saying my food would be with me in 5 minutes. I finally received it 20... More
