A good experience

Randomly came across his place in Brighton, very nice too. Pleasant staff, and great food. For Brighton, it was good value too, I will be back.

I've had many roasts in my life and I think this one had the smallest portions I've ever seen. Two tiny pieces of fatty beef? Really? We went out of our way and had high expectations based on the "best roast in Brighton" claim. What I did get was tasty, admittedly, but I was still hungry when I finished and... More

I have the pleasure of living within 2 minutes walk of this pub and it's a great local. Welcoming staff with a good variety of local ales and an impressively diverse menu considering it's mostly one meal! Usually about 10 different sausage choices including vegetarian options (tested an approved by a vegetarian friend!). Music is usually pretty good but sometimes... More

Excellent pub, great outdoor areas and friendly staff. That's not even mentioning the amazing food they do, they won the award for best roast last year and with so many sausage and mash combos you can't go wrong when you want a hearty meal. Brilliant atmosphere

Good lunch, always reliable although not enough potatoes! Booked table in advance for 2pm for leisurely lunch only to find another sign on the table to say booked again for 3pm. Hungry so had to order and scoff the lot in time to clear the table! Food good but rushed!

Ended up at Shakespeare's Head when rain and a closed museum led to a sudden need to find a place inside. We chose this pub based on good reviews, and weren't let down! We've been to Brighton dozens of times before, and know that there are tons of great restaurants, but this will definitely be added to our shortlist. My... More

Went for a pub quiz with my friends, left with a good laugh, delicious meal and 1st place. Had the Pork and Leek Sausages with Bacon and Cabbage Mash and Port and Thyme gravy, randomly picked, but went down sooo well. Everyone had compliments for their meal. Staff were very friendly I've heard amazing reviews on the Sunday Roast so... More

We had been there previously, so we decided to repeat, last time we'd a good experience and the selection of small dishes was pretty good, but we were totally surprised when we saw that they had changed the menu ... I wanted to choose again ribs, since the last time it was incredible, but they had disappeared from the menu.... More
