Laid back and quirky pub.

Relaxed atmosphere, draft cider and good choice of different sausages, different mash and different gravy. We booked a table for five of us and had a very pleasant evening. a few minutes walk from the station heading away from the town.

Best Sunday Roast ever!!!... I went to Shakespeare's Head with a group of friends because someone told us that it was the best Roast in Brighton... Absolutely agree, I had the pork one... the meat was so tender...literally melted in my mouth... the stuffing was incredible tasty, they add lemon on it. I am not a cauliflower friendly, but they... An interesting pub with low lighting and odd music. Food took a while to arrive but we were a large party . Sausages and mash were really good and excellent value

Great pub, great food. But the stereo system must have come from the pound shop! I sat near a speaker and the sound was stupidly loud, all bass and distorted. There was a DJ in the corner that was proudly producing this crap. My grandma has a better sound system in her nursing home :) A great pub ruined.

Their amazing choice of different bangers, mash & gravy means there's something for everyone - great atmosphere, & they do lovely roasts on a Sunday too!

The best traditional Bangers and Mash we found in Brighton. Great atmosphere and wonderful food. Located in a traditional pub with great selection of beer and local characters.

This pub has a really good atmosphere with very friendly staff. They specialise in sausage and mash which have always been excellent, large choice of sausages, mash and gravy options. The Sunday roast has really got to be one of the best around. They also serve the best Bloody Mary's in town!

I've had many roasts in my life and I think this one had the smallest portions I've ever seen. Two tiny pieces of fatty beef? Really? We went out of our way and had high expectations based on the "best roast in Brighton" claim. What I did get was tasty, admittedly, but I was still hungry when I finished and... More

I have the pleasure of living within 2 minutes walk of this pub and it's a great local. Welcoming staff with a good variety of local ales and an impressively diverse menu considering it's mostly one meal! Usually about 10 different sausage choices including vegetarian options (tested an approved by a vegetarian friend!). Music is usually pretty good but sometimes... More
