I just love mash...and boy did this pub have mash!!! The texture and flavour was awesome! The bangers weren't bad either and the gravy too! Worth every step I took to walk from my B&B.

I've been here loads before for drinks but had never eaten here - only question I have for myself now is why not? The mix and match sausage, mash and gravy combo is a great idea and not only that but the food is outstanding. Excellent quality sausages, great mash and the gravy just tops it - all this for... Came in here for a quick after work dinner with my boyfriend as its my local decided to stay for dinner as after a pint I lost the motivation to cook. My 12 year old joined us and despite a mistake with the order, which was due to the barmaid continuing a conversation whilst taking my order, the food was... More

The pub is nice and the atmosphere warm. Tasty beef roast served with vegetables. My friends said pork roast was good too. Staff is ok. Need to return to try bangers and mash.

Located an empty table next to the window (behind the bar), and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves last night!

Been twice now, first time had the beef, divine. Second time had the chicken, fabulous. All the trimmings, gravy perfect, massive Yorkshire pud, cauliflower cheese, crispy roasties. Perfect roast. Chicken came with a beautiful apricot stuffing too. Both times despite being full we couldn't resist pudding. Had a sticky toffee pudding first time. Best I've ever tried. Second time had... More

Popped in here for an after work beverage with the significant other as it's really close to home but for some reason in the 5 years I've lived up on the Dials I've never ventured in. The decor and atmosphere is really nice and cosy and they've a fine selection of drinks on offer. I was rather sad that we... More

My fave was the stilton and leek susage with cheddern mash and red wine gravy, naughty but... More

great local pub undone up over years..friendly intimate atmosphere good beer ...reasonable food. I find it fine for a pint on my own on a weekday night, if you go in any other time expect that you might fall into conversation with bar staff who are lovely., Music is good. BEER is always well kept and good. Dark Star etc.,
