Visiting Brighton from the USA as we do twice yearly often the fish & chips on offer in local establishments are not as good as anticipated. However, without question the fish & chips lunch we enjoyed at this delightful seaside restaurant was excellent and the New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc we ordered was a perfect accompaniment to the food. The waiting... More

We pre-booked and on arrival we asked for a table outside and the staff were more than happy to accommodate our needs. The waiters were very attentive but not intrusive. I enjoyed a selection of Oysters and My husband enjoyed the lobster Croquettes. I had mussels for my main and my husband had a dressed crab. All the food was... More

A wonderful lunch in this quaint but beautiful restaurant. The food was fabulous and so was the service. Definitely worth a visit.

Liked the position, character of the building and the warm greeting and unintrusive behaviour of the staff. £150 for a table of 4 including 2 bottles of wine and eating from the 3 course set menu. There is also steak for those without a fishy palate.

The reviews don't lie. This is a place of great food (mainly fish) and service. You are made to feel very welcome as soon as you step through the door. Our five course taster menu was superb as was the service provided by Manu and Marriane ((l asked for their names, I don't know them). Give it a try.

We've been here before in the summer sitting outside and it was time to go back on the eve of my friends wedding. We sat inside this time and it was such a nice change to find somewhere with great atmosphere but not overly noisy. Anyway we all went for a mix of dishes. My boyfriend accidentally got a steak... I feel the menu has been dumbed down a little, as it now contains a burger on the menu and the scallops that I had were very small compared to the last time I was there. The menu did not seem to be very inspiring this time.

Looking around the Lanes for a bite to eat and came across English's. A party of Japanese were sat outside and were really enjoying their meal. We were shown to our table outside , service was fantastic with dietary requirements catered for immediately. Food was fresh, beautifully cooked, seasoned and tasty. I felt quiet smug sat there whilst others were... More
