Local lunch

Been here quite a few times now, mainly for lunch but once in the evening. Always good service and value for money.

This restaurant is ALWAYS busy! Its a great atmosphere with the open window wall at the front. The foreign staff give the authentic itlalian feel, to go with the style of the venire itself. Upon visiting, the manager asked us to return in 20 minutes as ensured us a table would be ready for my partner and our 2 friends.... More

Went to La Trattoria for my 60th birthday and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. My husband had the antipasto misto and I had the Afumicati as starters followed by the chicken wrapped in ham (hubby) and the veggie cannelloni then panna cotta (hubby) and gelato 2 scoops with amaretto drizzled. We also had a bottle of Primitivo. Not the cheapest but... More

Well we went on a recommendation and it seems they were wrong. The waiting staff were curt and almost rude. The table for four was a table for three. The waiter spilt water on the table, wiped it up and didn't apologise. The pizza toppings were sparse while the base was undercooked. So not a great experience and we won't... More

Visited La Trattoria after seeing an advert on the ferry from Sandbanks to Bournemouth. It sounded nice. Partly disappointed therefore, although it's certainly not the worst Italian food we have had. Our pizzas were quite dry and lacking in topping. The carbonarra was good. The service was average with some surliness and one of the waiters spilled water and mopped... More

We were recommended to eat here by the hosts of the B&B we stayed at in Studland. We booked for 8.00pm and when we arrived early we were able to sit by the small bar as the restaurant was very full, which is its own good testimony. Our table was available in a timely manner. The menu has many choices... More

I went with my family for an early evening meal and noticed they had put the prices up especially for the summer. I wouldnt have minded but the quality of the pizza I ordered was dreadful.I ordered the Piccante with extra chicken and when it arrived it looked as though they had taken some of the original topping off to... We try to visit this restaurant each time we visit Swanage. At least twice a year. Simple Italian food. Tastes divine. Would recommend booking in advance as it fills up quickly. NB never eaten pizza there as the rest of the menu so tasty.

We came to la trattoria after hearing good things. Staff were unhelpful, the decor is like something out of a black and white film. Steak was greasy, overcooked, overpriced. Avoid at all costs, swanage has some great restaurants so don't bother wasting your money at this hole of a restaurant

We visited as a family of 4 today and we're very disappointed. We ordered 4 pizzas and a side salad with one round of drinks. The pizzas were very dry and lacking in toppings and the mixed salad was very uninspiring. Not to mention very slow service. We came away feeling very let down, especially as the bill was £65!...
