This was a snack lunch in the cafe side of the restaurant. The restaurant does not appear to open at lunch time. Every where else in Swanage looked ghastly. We only had a sandwich & a glass of Pinot but warmly welcomed , quickly served by anglo italian manager(owner?). Clearly well thought of by regulars. No fuss no bother. Clean... More

The Jazz Festival was happening and the restaurant was crowded with festival-goers. Nevertheless, service was quite good and the staff were pleasant. The food was OK, the bread and olives starter was quite substantial but we felt that the smallish pork escalope that we got was a little expensive. The trimmings, including a shared mixed salad, were fine. We only... More

We visited as a couple during the week. Bottle of wine, starters, two mains and a shared pudding set us back about £100. Service was very good. Staff very attentive. The only disappointment was the tomato and mozzarella salad - portion was very small for the cost and it came with a single leaf of basil in the middle. I... More

Very popular spot - definitely need to book. The three of us enjoyed authentic italian food but it did come to over £100 without much alcohol. Mrs W had the lobster which was extremely nice. My chicken was OK and Junior had a good sized pepperoni pizza. Atmosphere was excellent and hospitality very good. Food arrived in timely fashion despite... More

On a rare visit to Swanage it was a challenge to find anywhere reasonable to eat - fish & chips in profusion but little else in town. Chancing on Trattoria was like finding an Oasis in the desert - and what a find ! Food great - especially the mussels in a creamy garlic source - all piping hot. Service... More

Was so looking forward to eating at this self labelled family Italian. But sadly disappointed by the sharp and miserable waiting staff. The main lady who I guess is part of the family was great, but wrong food came out, poor and bland. Sloppy and not attentive. Both the tables to the left and right also were given wrong meals!!!... We usually have the excellent fresh fish here but my husband and I opted for pizza , both the dal mare and chicken pesto pizzas were really good. a varied menu that all family members will enjoy. Great service too.
