Grear breakfast with possibly the best view in Dorset

Whilst popular in the da and on summer evening breakfast is our favourite time to visit with good quality bacon, sausages and eggs all fresh cooked and nice coffee too. Sitting outside on the terrace on a summers morning is simply a great place to be

had lunch here a year ago. We had a warm herb panini with bacon, Brie and cranberry followed by a cream tea. We decided to have the same again this year as we really enjoyed it last time. What a difference. No herbs in panini. Not much filling. Bacon fatty. Scone overcooked and dry. Very disappointing and expensive. Would we... More

The views are stunning! Truly breathtaking! Why oh why can't the restaurant serve quality fair? Sardines were truly the worst I have ever tasted, cooked in batter, like Whitebait, truly disgusting. Friends fish and chips were fine, but the batter was soggy in parts. Mushy peas were dry and tasteless. Ice cream 'gritty' somehow. Beer on draught limited, wines again OK... More

We visited Durlston Castle on a Sunday lunch time. The weather was glorious and there were great views. We decided to stay for lunch and opted for a table outside. If you eat outside you have to order at the bar, pay and collect your drinks. It's all a bit haphazard and not very organised. There are people milling around... More

As other reviewers comment, the views from the outside terrace are wonderful, BUT...the food was bland, tasteless and overpriced. Take a picnic instead.

I'm astonished at the review which says there were great cakes on display: I've just been there and I didn't see any! This was about 2.30/3pm, when we wanted tea & cake or an ice cream, and we didn't get either. (We'd had a marvellous lunch at Rollington Barn, as part of Purbeck Art Weeks - if you go there,... Good breakfast till 11am. Good cakes on display. Staff very friendly and helpful, who wouldn't be in such a great place to work, views across to Isle of Wight on good day. A little pricey but the quality of the food is well worth it.

The cafe is very good and sells, local beers as well as tea and coffee. There is a selection of snacks and cream teas to tempt you. The shop and toilets are fine.

Went last weekend for a daytime wedding, sit down dinner and dance with brilliant bar. Staff were amazing. Stunning canapes (lamb skewers my fave!), lovely food for lunch, and the bar manager was amazing, even popping out for more beer once we'd drunk the bar dry!! Stunning location, perfect size for a large group, no complaints from anyone!! Deffo put... More

We had our wedding reception at Durlston Castle on the 8th May 2015 and it was just amazing. We cannot speak highly enough of Polly, Ian and the rest of the team. They worked so hard and went above and beyond what I expected to make it the best day ever. Thank you so much to all of you for... More
