We were lucky enough to sit outside at a table in the sun, despite it being the end of October. The food was very tasty and service prompt.

To be able to serve such imaginative and fresh food in what is essentially a cafe is a remarkable achievement. To do so with a genuine smile and pleasant decor, doubly so. Unhesitatingly recommended.

If you removed the wonderful setting this place would be just another expensive tourist trap. The view sort of makes up for the boring and highly cliched food but not enough to justify another visit. The staff are disorganised, flustered and the food arrived cold. Bring a picnic to Durlston and enjoy the view.

We booked just half an hour ahead of our visit, just to make sure there was a table available. Staff were so friendly and helpful both over the phone and when we arrived. They found us a window seat and made us feel really welcome. Nothing was too much trouble. The menu is very tempting and uses lots of locally... More

This was our first visit to the restaurant as in the past when we have visited it has always been too busy. On this occasion however as it was out of season there were tables available outside on the balcony. It was simply wonderful to enjoy excellent fish and chips with a view to die for.

Lots of places do a full English breakfast but not many do it so well. We thoroughly enjoyed ours, so much so that we went back again later in the week. The setting is stunning and the quality of the food lives up to it.

ts been over 15 years since I was last here and I can't believe how much its changed, all for the better. We had a quick look around and then got some food. We sat out on the terrace and could have been abroad with the views and the weather. The food we got was excellent and fairly priced in... More

Only had coffee and cakes here but certainly a cafe/restaurant to add to our list of favourite haunts. The whole castle is beautifully restored and cafe is a really interesting space. Great place to shelter when the weather turns!

A fabulous location with stunning views. Very busy, lunchtime didn't really impress. Expensive for what it was. Sounding delicious, very small quiche arrived with a small pile of rocket, this sounded wonderful on the menu but two mouthfuls and it was gone, priced at over £6 it was a bit steep. The soup was cold round the edges and suggested... More

Came here for an afternoon tea with friends. The cream tea was very good. It came with a clipper tea, a very nicely fruited scone, great cream and jam. Also had a ham, cheese and tomato panini. And that was nice. Atmosphere good.
