A local recommended the pub, I had also looked up the pub as it has a gluten free menu. We arrived just before 6 and was warmly greeted by the lady in charge. Also had chats with the locals. Great s lectionaries of beer and mulled cider. The best though was the food. The fish and chips were fantastic, ther... More

Great pub with warm and cosy bar, and Fantastic Food, my son loved the Jurassic Ribs, the meat was so tender, the chicken curry was super as was the mussels , all puddings were home made, wonderful.

We were doing a tour of southern England, and Swanage was the last city on our tour. Staying at a B&B, we needed to find somewhere for our evening meal and our hosts recommended the Black Swan. Although the main menu consisted of the standard pub fare, the specials board gave some diversity - which we needed as we had... More

Twelve of us booked rather late for Sunday lunch. Although there was a bit of confusion over some of the drinks ordered we found the food to be excellent value. Ten of us had a traditional roast, it was unfortunate that they didn't have enough beef left for everyone who ordered it but those who chose pork as an alternative... More

The food is quite nice but the service if you are unlucky enough to be served by straggly haired blond woman is nothing short of appalling. The food is not worth the service.

Had a very good evening meal here. Welcome was very friendly, service was excellent, the menu had a very good range of choices and prices were reasonable. The atmosphere in the pub was great, with lots of locals enjoying themselves. Went next evening to the Corner Restaurant - which was OK but we spent twice as much and enjoyed the... More
