Wow is the word for Steak Night at the Red Lion in Swanage, a steak meal for two with a bottle of wine £27, Friday nights only. We were in Swanage on holiday and thought we would give it a try and so pleased we did. The steak was excellent , with chips, onion rings and mushrooms, and a nice... More

In the past having always stopped at the Red Lion for drinks only, we had always through about eating in there but never quite got round to it, however after a long hard walk back from Corfe we stopped at the Red Lion for drinks and had a read of the menu once there! We were both suitably impressed with... More

Typical pub and not sure I would choose to eat in here but the offer of ales and ciders definately made it a worth while visit for a drink or two!! Garden out the back is pleasant enough with some friendly locals. Toilets outside socould be chilly in the winter months!!

Dropped in here after a great walk at Durlston Park and down the sea front. Lovely place Swanage. The Red Lion is just far enough away from the front to not be too packed although was still busy. Service quick and friendly the Beer range great choice of 6 real Ales the two I had both fantastic. Jacki had great... More

Called in last night for an after dinner drink and loved the place! Great atmosphere and top staff. They had a live band called "the transitions" who were outstanding, their versions of popular songs were great. They have an extensive cider menu, the one I liked best was the Purbeck Perry!

This historic building has a welcoming interior and a sunny garden. This was not our first visit and we have always been impressed by the high standard of service. The beers are kept well and the lunch time sandwiches were filling. Swanage has lots of places for lunch but this one takes some beating.

Had lunch here today. Three of us had roast beef and the other a jacket potato with crayfish. All of the food was really good and very reasonably priced. Will definitely return again and try the Friday steak night.

a local pub where we sat outside in one of 2 gardens separated by a quiet road. The meal was surprising far better than expected with home cooked food of a very high quality

We arrived after a long journey on Bank Holiday Monday to find we had no room - double booked. However the barman was very friendly and apologetic and offered us a drink on the house while it was sorted. The beers as said in previous reviews are excellent and my husband who is a beer connoisseur - well he drinks... More
