A little gem

We had friends with us, and decided a cup of tea and piece of cake would not go amiss! The bakery is next door to The Green. Upon entering, the smell of baking is obvious, so delicious. Really simple, relaxed, good coffee, fun and easy going staff. Lovely bread, well cooked egg. Much cheaper than going out for breakfast or brunch if you're after something simple.

Came to this cafe on a Saturday for a quick bite to eat. After climbing some stairs to get to the cafe area, we were confronted by a compact area with a long wooden table and stools with tractors seats. It reminded me of a scaled down school refectory. Some staff were brusque and we seemed to be invisible to... More

Visited here whilst on holiday locally, just fancied a quick bite so popped in. The café is upstairs above the bakery and it was the window display that really enticed us, several lovely looking made-on-the-premises things like Dorset rarebit, mushroom & stilton tart and butternut squash tart. Upstairs is unusual, there's a table for 4 and a long trestle table... More

Stopped here for late breakfast. Had a great coffee and bacon roll. Lovely cafe above a bakery with lovely looking cakes, granola and 'help yourself to toast' policy. Best bacon roll ever!

Use to be my favourite place in Sherborne but today I couldn't stay to eat, the place was so dirty. What a shame !

Have had many a pizza, and cake, from the Bakery Cafe and have always had great experiences there. The staff are very friendly (jack is good fun but rubbish at squash(the racket game)). Pizza nights are really fun - you sit on a long table, bring your own drinks and eat tasty pizza - what can go wrong!

Lovely smell of fresh bread as you go in! Café upstairs with a long table with old style tractor seats to sit on. Very good coffee and food looked great all though we did not eat there. Still a bakery and we brought a lovely cottage type loaf there and was very tempted by the pizza slices on offer!

We didn't eat in the cafe but took some food out to eat. Normally, needing dairy-free, we are painfully limited on choice at cake shops, but the baker offered us several amazing, dairy-free options. We went for the apple & cinnamon polenta cake - omigosh! Moist, crumbly, filling & topped with a thick layer of dark sugar to add some... More
