Nobody stands on parade here. Unapologetically unreconstructed, great atmosphere, busy and friendly with prince and pauper standing together enjoying good beer, good ale and good company. Food is adequate and not for the gourmet but then nor are the prices. "The Tap" will be here long after we have all passed through. If not, it will be because hell has... More

A heaving pub in the backstreet of sleepy Sherbourne. My kind of pub, busy, friendly and serving good beer. The Beer was well kept and carefully served. A fine range of beers for the discerning drinker, and interesting decor and a great atmosphere. We could have stayed there all night drinking quality ales were it not for the impending feast... More

Brilliant atmosphere and a range of drinks. Good range of customers. Nothing disliked; friendly place.

Rough and ready and cramped establishment that is inexplicably popular, but far too many tweed jackets, turned-up rugger shirt collars and mangy dogs for my liking. Red Stripe on draught is a refreshing change, though - wish more places would serve this tangy brew. The mobile phone ban is inconvenient and somewhat irrational in my view; some of the bellowing... Brilliant, we arrived on Sunday at about 1130 and did not have to sit in the bar smelling other people's chips and beans etc, this place is a proper pub, great local beer, normal nibbles and no mobiles allowed. If you want to eat on a Sunday go to a restaurant, simple really. They provided my dog with a bowl... More

Afraid I don't see why people like this place aside from low prices? In my opinion the selection of Ales was poor (just 2 on, 1 Otter & a festival ale) we didn't get as far as eating, as after around half a drink we left. Clicky 'locals' atmosphere... I'm sure if you are local you'll love it

Great beers, great grub, great prices, great atmosphere. No 'themes', no pretensions, no wannabe-Yank menus, no bs. Who could ask for anything more?

Just the best in Sherborne, a bit spit and sawdust, but always buzzing, real ales and great value lunchtime grub.

With real ales from £2.20 and a large selection of lunches under a fiver this is a highly recommended budget priced pub near to Sherborne Abbey and 5 minutes from the station. Usually 6-8 real ales on. Somewhat rustic charm with flagstones (no sawdust due to H&S). Some pubs in Sherborne charge London prices; this is not one of them.... More

I live in Sherborne and most of the pubs are terrible! The Digby Tap is the one exception; a tradditional pub serving great beer (constantly changing) and outstanding lunches. You can get nearly everything on the menu for under a fiver but you'd have to be mad not to have their ham, egg and chips! If you're looking for a... More
