On old traditional pub with lots of character

I was in Sherborne in January 2016 and had a drink a couple of times in this pub.this is a "house" for people who like a Traditional English Pub and not one that is part of big chain and thereby a bit samey and "plastic". The Digby Tap had s that warm feel of authenticity , has a really good... read more

We went here for a couple if ore dinner drinks on a Thursday. At 7 o'clock the place was very buzz. It's quite a small pub with limited seating but a lively atmosphere. The real ale we had was excellent and only £2.20 per pint! Highly recommended.

This olde world style pub with flagstones is popular with locals and poorer professionals such as teachers. They serve several real ales and good honest food, all good value in a town where some places charge London prices. The ploughman's lunches are very generous. My only slight grumble is that the beers are mostly weaker ones and there's rarely any... More

Went to the Digby Tap for lunch with my wife and friends on Saturday lunchtime to find the pub very busy, but with in 15 minutes we found a table and with in 20 minutes of ordering was served lunch, I ordered the carbonara pasta and must say it was the correct decision, I had a huge bowl with the... This is what a pub was before most of them became restaurants. Convivial, welcoming, with an open fire and local beers at entirely sensible prices. Easily my favourite pub and meeting place in Sherborne

An ancient pub of great character.. Ales are first class. Lunch grub very good and value for money. Seating, when you can find a spare seat is very uncomfortable and the pub can get overcrowded especially on market days but the beer is such good value.

I visited this pub on a Friday evening at 5.30 with a friend, and could not believe how busy it was. The pub is like how wooden floored, old fashioned town pubs used to be, but a bit scruffier. There were 5 excellent local real ales ranging in price from £2.20 (3.8%) to £2.80 (5.1%). These prices, plus the quality... More

This is a proper good old fashioned pub, real ale and great food at 90's prices, great landlord(s) and always a good atmosphere. I would give this place a straight 5 out of 5 every time but for the bloody miserable girl behind the bar who cannot even crack a friendly smile and on occasions will only serve when finished...
