First visit and it was disappointing. Far too expensive for very ordinary fare. Poor service also. The place looked scruffy. They had run out of bread. We asked for the mince pies which were on the Menu, only to be told it was out of date - sorry - and they no longer served them. Needless to say, we will... More

My partner and I had an early lunch at Turnbulls Deli today. I was a bit disappointed in the experience having loved it here in the past. The conservatory at the back of the shop, where we were sitting, was a bit scruffy looking - knocked edges on the paintwork, shelves of books looking higgledy piggledy with cheese boxes placed... We visited in a pre-booked group of 13 on a Saturday lunchtime. It was great that they fitted us in in a lovely bright conservatory out the back, but the service (although pleasant) was a bit all over the place - they burnt our pizzas so had to start over with them. The worst bit was the value for money... More

This is a delightful shop that has lots of unusual cheeses and chocolates. This was a busy shop and very popular with the locals. There is also a coffee shop that has two separate seating areas. again this is popular with the locals. The menu offered the usual choice of café food. There was a nice touch of a cheese... More

Turnbull's is primarily a deli which runs a restaurant on the side. We ate quiche, sandwiches and salads which were quite good, but the real attraction is the pastry counter and the cheese deli. Come here if you want that special something for a nice dinner or cheeseboard, some unusual chutneys or crackers, or a special dessert.

This is a nice small intimate cafe serving food from the deli shop. I would thoroughly recommend the cheese fondue and the Extraordinary Pickle, it was enough to share as a snack so not so expensive.

A tempting place to walk in. My kind of establishment to be honest. Good quality food on display and on offer. But the prices charged cannot be justified as far as I am concerned! We had an equally satisfying breakfast locally for about half the money! This is such a shame!

This is a top class upmarket deli in the centre of Shaftesbury, with a coffee shop at the rear. Coffee and nibbles are great, though not cheap. However the piece de resistance is the Gorgonzola: a huge runny slice cut from the whole cheese (2' across and 9" deep!) is a sight for sore eyes, and an indulgence I can... More

Busy litle place with a packed menu and polite efficient staff. Reasonably priced well cooked food perfect for lunch in the high street!
