Our deli serves the best cheese for miles, where we showcase the pick of local classics such as Montgomery and Dorset Blue Vinny, plus the finest examples of the European Greats. We stock cheeses so good, so extraordinary and perfectly matured, you'll taste the difference in every mouthful. Turnbulls Bistro serves seasonal home made lunches with many dishes under £10, made here by us with carefully sourced local ingredients. And our coffee, well, it's Great Taste Award winning, and our hot chocolate special is renowned in playgrounds from Bath to the Jurassic Coast.

Great new refurb!

New refurb gives a lovely feeling of space and light. Love the colours and a great new spot for the sofa in the conservatory. Ploughmans board is still a favourite - great choice of best bits from the deli and light enough to still leave room for a naughty slice of cake! Smily ,welcomimg staff make... read more

I have tried this cafe several times and found it wanting - staff are slow to aknowledge customers especially if you visit for tea after 4ppm when part of the cafe is shut for customers. The food always looks good and deli is excellent but staff are not very friendly especially if you are a woman only partyin my experience.... More

Have been a regular for many years, mainly because of good coffee and great waitresses.Took a friend today for the first time for breakfast. The proceeding order of toast/marmalade arrived, along with the coffee.8 slices of completely untoasted toast, together with an empty jar of marmalade were served.Apologising,as we Brits do,pointed out that the toast was un-toasted and,no marmalade left in the jar!.So,the toast... Turnbulls has been around for 12 years but is a Shaftesbury institution. Run by the energetic and enthusiastic Charlie Turnbull, it is famous for its cheeses (try the amazing Gorgonzola) and the cafe/bistro at the back is a wonderful way to pass the time .

On our visit to Shaftesbury we visited Turnbulls Deli for a cup of coffee. The staff welcomed us with a smile and were friendly. The decor was clean and smart. The overall service we noticed was a bit slow, just as well we weren't in a hurry. They offer a good menu as well as a good selection in the... More

Simple review this one. Went in with some friends visiting us from Lancashire, we went through the shop, sat at a table didn't see any waiting staff, no greeting, sat there like spare parts for 20 minutes no one spoke to us, we got bored and left. Had to apologise to our friends. Thanks for nothing!

Very tempting, very satisfying to visit with good service, cakes and all varieties of naughty stuff to hit the waistline. Excuse? I am on holiday! Prices very reasonable, too.

Turnbulls looks attractive from the outside, inside you find a nice deli with a great selection of local cheeses. Would be a good idea if the staff were more highly trained though. My cappuccino was bitter and came with unasked for chocolate. Nice old cookery books to read in the back room.
