Our deli serves the best cheese for miles, where we showcase the pick of local classics such as Montgomery and Dorset Blue Vinny, plus the finest examples of the European Greats. We stock cheeses so good, so extraordinary and perfectly matured, you'll taste the difference in every mouthful. Turnbulls Bistro serves seasonal home made lunches with many dishes under £10, made here by us with carefully sourced local ingredients. And our coffee, well, it's Great Taste Award winning, and our hot chocolate special is renowned in playgrounds from Bath to the Jurassic Coast.

Lovely Deli

A lovely deli, with an amazing range of cheese and goodies. Menu a bit different but slightly limited. Excellent coffee and nice staff.... A regular haunt x

This morning I decided to treat my husband to some breakfast while we were in Shaftesbury and chose Turnbulls as the menu looked nice. I ordered coffee and chose croque monsieur as we love it having had it in hotels and in France. We were served a plate of undercooked toast with a little ham hock and a sea of... More

Good food - nicely prepared and not the run of the mill by any means. Pay a little more for really nice sandwich and coffee. Gets a bit full though and always feels cramped.

We stopped off in Shaftesbury to visit Gold Hill and decided to have a bite to eat and a coffee. We both had a Mocha Coffee, a slice of Victoria sponge cake, and a Flapjack. The Coffee was ok but the cakes were way to sweet and for a few pence short of a tenner was overpriced in my opinion.

This is a very cosy little café, but you have to be careful how you enter through the double doors - both hands are required!

Being locals we come here often as the food is cooked really well, there's a great atmosphere here and Charlie and his staff are really friendly - Try some of his cheeses while your there - He is after all a famous cheese expert!

Turnballs deli is in our local town and has sadly been going downhill for some time. We went and had lunch there a few days ago and despite the fact that it was not busy had to wait nearly half an hour for our order of Welsh transit and croque monseiur. The food was pretty tasteless when it arrived although... More

I've noticed some mixed reviews here, and I cannot understand why. We visited 3 times whilst on holiday last week, and were delighted with the experience. The staff are knowledable, friendly and helpful. The food is superb, and good value considering it is of high quality. The bistro itself is pleasantly decorated and puts you at ease. And yes, the... This is a deli with a 'bistro' - we had great sandwiches, baguettes (ah! the bacon), flan, chips - all very very good. Loved it. Good coffee and a nice bottle of Bristol Gold beer (local cider also available). Only downside was the lack of training of the young staff who didn't really know the menu, couldn't tell you what... The food here is lovely, there's no doubt to how well it's cooked, it is on the pricy side but matches the standard of the food. However whilst having lunch with my sister, we ordered a pot of tea for 2. There wasn't enough for 2 cups each, so I asked if the pot could be filled and we just... More
