Our first visit to shaftesbury and stopped at this cafe by chance. I am so pleased we did. The service was very good and the waitresses deserved there tip. The food was also of high quality. I had bacon and Brie ciabatta and my husband had steak and kidney pie. The best he had in ages he said. The view... More

Lovely setting at the top of Gold Hill renowned for the Hovis bread advert. Great value for money and great service.

Went with Friends to celebrate a special Birthday, and were overwhelmed by the quality of the food and service in what is a very small establishment, with what must be one of the best known views in England, the Hovis advert! It is as well to book a table as it gets very busy because it is so good, and... More

Nicely located under the town hall, with a great view down the famous Gold Hill, this is well worth a visit. I chose a snack lunch of bacon, brie and avocado panini, which was very tasty and served in a friendly and timely manner. It came with a top quality coleslaw which, I thought, had a little touch of pesto... More

Lively and busy, be prepared to wait at busy times. A friend and I both ordered the ciabatta sandwich and both were lovely with a very nice side salad. Awesome views

We visited Shaftsbury for the first time this week, obviously our first port of call was Gold hill of the Hovis bread advert fame back in the 80s. What a treat the view is down the cobbled hill and at the top is the Salt cellar cafe which serves cream teas to die for alongside other mouthwatering confections which you... More

Had a wonderful cream tea here - scones were hot and fresh and not too heavy. Yummy cream and jam too. Sadly my cappuccino was not up to scratch, it tasted really bitter and I couldn't drink it. The tea was great though. Wonderful view of Gold Hill too. Definitely worth a visit!

We found this eatery at the top of Gold Hill, before we walked down. A brilliant location as we had friends who had not arrived yet and it was so easy to find because of its location. All the different food we ordered between us was absolutely excellent served by a very friendly and extremely helpful waitress.
