When I was working in Shaftesbury in the first half of the year I regularly frequented this café for lunch or for coffee/tea with customers. I went back with my husband on the day of the Christmas street market and was not surprised to find it was already busy when we went in for hot drinks with a friend in... More

A really great location, especially on a sunny day. The food was simple but very good, real hearty home cooking. They were very busy though and were struggling to keep up with orders, I think they forgot our food at one point so we had to ask, they were very apologetic though and did put our food at the top... Our first visit to shaftesbury and stopped at this cafe by chance. I am so pleased we did. The service was very good and the waitresses deserved there tip. The food was also of high quality. I had bacon and Brie ciabatta and my husband had steak and kidney pie. The best he had in ages he said. The view... More

Lovely setting at the top of Gold Hill renowned for the Hovis bread advert. Great value for money and great service.

Went with Friends to celebrate a special Birthday, and were overwhelmed by the quality of the food and service in what is a very small establishment, with what must be one of the best known views in England, the Hovis advert! It is as well to book a table as it gets very busy because it is so good, and... More

Nicely located under the town hall, with a great view down the famous Gold Hill, this is well worth a visit. I chose a snack lunch of bacon, brie and avocado panini, which was very tasty and served in a friendly and timely manner. It came with a top quality coleslaw which, I thought, had a little touch of pesto... More

Lively and busy, be prepared to wait at busy times. A friend and I both ordered the ciabatta sandwich and both were lovely with a very nice side salad. Awesome views

What a treat the view is down the cobbled hill and at the top is the Salt cellar cafe which serves cream teas to die for alongside other mouthwatering confections which you... More
