Saturday lunch

Popped in for lunch, it didn't seem very busy which meant we got a table in the conservatory which we wanted as we had a push chair. I had the burger which was very good (although definitely not as good as the Forester Burger!). It was served rare which was fine by me but may not be for others... read more

Good food, not a huge choice at lunchtime. Service average and quite expensive. Quite nice ambience and a good place to meet friends for morning coffee.

The cocktails here are great especially during 2 for 1 time. The bar is lovely and cosy and the decor is lovely. We stayed for a bite to eat one evening but unfortunately not much on the menu really appealed to us. I chose a pizza which was burnt and unpleasant and my parents had burgers which again were unpleasant.... More

There seems to be only one hotel to choose from in the town and 2 restaurants (the other being La Fleur de Lys...separate review) We were staying in the hotel and had our second night's meal in the restaurant. It was great, a lively buzzing atmosphere with lovely food. In terms of food quality and price, it's probably second to... More

I have stayed at the Grosvenor a number of times now over the last 5 years with a group of my guests as a shooting party and have seen management changes on the way, all for the good. Unfortunately the Grosvenor were unable to accommodate my party of 10 this year and we stayed elsewhere.. never again !!! Great food,... More

I ate here for two nights in a row when staying at the hotel and the food was superb on both occasions. I found the staff friendly and service quick and efficient. Prices were reasonable and portion size generous. We will be returning again shortly.

Spent one night here for post NYE celebrations. Looked after us perfectly with a great selection of bar drinks and excellent menu. Service is really good too. My only complaint would be that in my opinion the wine list is a bit pricey.

Although the menu at this gastro-inn offer variety and quaity choices and tastes, it is the wood fired pizza that is delicious. A selection of about 6 different pizzas, great wine and a stylish choice of rooms to dine in (three that are dog friendly) and in warm months a garden terrace.. friendly staff - young and contemporary service makes... We visited with a website voucher for afternoon tea. We sat in the bar which was very cosy and nicely decorated. Staff whilst very pleasant did not seem the most efficient, unsure what teas they had, our afternoon tea was brought out by 3 different people. Staff were all very nice but not the most efficient. Sandwiches were very tasty... More

Coffee is great here and have had many meetings in the lovely surroundings. Last time we had lunch and ordered a sandwich. What a disappointment. £6.50 for a round of ham (quite scarce) on sliced brown bread with far too much margarine. I'm afraid the bacon sandwich (on fresh granary bread from the bakery) which I had in Morrisons the... More
