An unusual venue and an enjoyable experience. We went as a group of four and received good service. The food seemed to be freshly made and good presentation. It did become rather noisy, due to the hard surfaces in the building, but overall a good night out. We will return.

Great Italian family restaurant, set in a converted chapel, with murals of the Amalfi coast. We spoke to the chef who cooked us local rack of lamb. We were served by his son with a good sense of humour. great for parties too as it is a very large spacious venue. Very extensive menu of pizza pasta and many speciality... More

Large restaurant inside a converted church. The tombstones around the door add a talking point. We were there on a busy Saturday night and three staff managed the whole room. The service was friendly but, I should imagine, if something goes wrong the whole service might collapse because three didn't seem quite enough for the number of covers. Having said... More

Amore is a pretty and busy restaurant in a converted chapel. They have made big efforts to make itllook authentic and it almost succeeds. But........ Having booked a table for 8.00 we arrived on time and found that there was no table ready and we had to wait. Our table had a candle holder with a dead candle and no... More

We went to this restaurant for a last minute birthday party. We booked earlier the same day for 12 people. They immediately accommodated us. When we arrived we had two more in our party than booked but they made all of us very welcome. In a very busy dinning room they catered too all of our needs. They made such... More

Very mediocre food and the waitress had a screaming match with one of the diners - never had entertainment like it!!!

The setting is most unusual, being inside a church with high ceilings, and murals on the walls giving a very mediteranean feel. Especially with sunlight filtering in through the high windows. Our evening was spoilt a little by a large party of youngsters, who mostly looked under 18, or at least they acted like they were, constantly in and out,... More

I was recently taken to Amore in Shaftesbury by my family for a birthday treat on a Saturday evening. When my husband and I arrived the rest of our family were already seated and having drinks - my stepson tried to get the waiter's attention to order drinks for us - this took quite a while and then the waiter... We have been twice recently (lunch and dinner on separate days) and both times thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Authentic Italian food and authentic atmosphere, particularly on a hot day as it was last Wednesday!

Have visited Amore on many occasions. Unusual but beautifully decorated location in an old church. The menu food and the service is always excellent. Recommend this restaurant to everyone.
