I was recently taken to Amore in Shaftesbury by my family for a birthday treat on a Saturday evening. When my husband and I arrived the rest of our family were already seated and having drinks - my stepson tried to get the waiter's attention to order drinks for us - this took quite a while and then the waiter... We have been twice recently (lunch and dinner on separate days) and both times thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Authentic Italian food and authentic atmosphere, particularly on a hot day as it was last Wednesday!

Have visited Amore on many occasions. Unusual but beautifully decorated location in an old church. The menu food and the service is always excellent. Recommend this restaurant to everyone.

My overall experience was just excellent, I couldn't imagine an Italian in a old church hall but it worked splendid and the food was Devine! I had muscles to start which were mouth watering, to follow I had fillet steak with pate and some sauce which I can't remember but it was just amazing & the service was excellent! The... More

An old church that has been nicely converted to an Italian restaurant, even the gravestones on the entrance are kept to add a little eeire atmosphere. Once inside you forget that you are in and old church and prayers are replaced with joyfull chattering and laughter. We had a very good time and food was genuinely Italian well worth the... More

This restaurant is in a converted church in the centre of Shaftesbury. Excellent home cooked Italian cuisine served by pleasant staff. A good atmosphere and value for money.

My Mum lives in Shaftesbury and has done for a while but not visited this restaurant before. However, it was a revelation, food arrived quickly and lots of choice, I had the chicken livers served in a bread basket and the portion was huge, my husband had the sardines which where great. for main course we had Lasagna, canellonni and... Centrally situated, right by the Angel Lane car park, Amore is in an old chapel building, which has been redecorated with sunny Italian scenes and memorabilia (Need I mention the "Juve Merda" football scarf?) The building can be rather cold, so be warned. The food is Italian classics, beautifully cooked and presented. The deli is well-stocked and well worth a... More
