If you're after something a little quirky but great fun then you won't be disappointed with The Blue Raddle. The Raddle is an intimate community pub frequented by local characters, famous for the ales and Landlady concocted meals on offer. The wine and other beverage selection isn't bad either! As if a visit to The Raddle isn't entertaining enough there are regular folk and Irish style music nights as well as a wacky charity meat draw every Friday evening and a quiz featuring quizmaster The Creative Accountant at the turn of every fiscal quarter. The Raddle is the home of 'laughter on tap'!

Good pub great service

This is a busy pub just out of Dorchester town centre. They love dogs and always serve some water straight away. This is indicated with humour by the notice outside. Inside its a traditional pub with a good selection of delicious home cooked food. The service is attentive and pleasant for a pub. A... read more

Based on previous reviews we stopped for lunch at The Blue Raddle while on a day trip to Dorchester and were very pleased we did. Very friendly staff and good food made it an ideal choice. We chose Steak and Kidney Pie and Venison Casserole, both extremely good. The portion sizes were more than adequate and good value. There was... More

We were staying in Dorchester overnight and found this little gem of a pub on Trip Advisor. It was so nice to visit a "real pub" rather than a faceless chain which is all too common these days. The food is all homemade and to die for. There is no printed menu .. Just a huge blackboard as dishes change... More

Great pub. Good atmosphere. Good food and nice bar staff. Hidden away from the main high street so frequented by locals.

In Dorchester for one night and decided to eat here in the evening based on seeing other reviews. What a diamond pub - old fashioned in the very best sense ... warm, inviting, interesting. Friendly barman with a good sense of humour made us very welcome The Butcombe Rare Breeds Pale Ale was a delight. We had the Venison casserole... More

Excellent warm and friendly pub. Wonderful vegetarian menu. The portions and the service was great and a good selection of beers. Small charming pub which permits dogs, although we didn't have a dog.

Super atmosphere (nice, friendly staff, tasteful background music, interesting choice of reading material, welcoming environment), excellent beer and extremely good (clearly home-made) food. The best place to spend a sociable and enjoyable lunchtime or night out in Dorchester.

Found this little place last week while staying in Dorchester, what a find, comfortable friendly with everything you can hope for in a Pub. Lots of choices from Real Ales, local brews and Ciders, the perfect Pint and good Wines. I had the Shepherds Pie topped with the fluffiest lightly browned mashed potato that I have ever tasted it came... More

Stumbled upon this pub, went in for a real ale but stayed for lunch as the vegetarian choices were fantastic. The beer was great, the staff and atmosphere very friendly. Will definitely return!

Myself and my 2 dogs were made very welcome despite it being a wet day. Good selection of local real ales. Free snacks and water bowl for the dogs. This is the sort of pub you would like to have as your local. I did not try the food but the real ales were well kept.
