7 of us family members ate Sunday lunch here last week. It has to be said it was one of the best carveries I've ever had. The meat was succulent and fresh. The vegetables were gorgeous and always being replaced as the dishes were not too large. The Yorkshires were going like,.... well,....like hot Yorkshires!!! It was delicious. We also... More

Decided to have a meal at the Martyrs Inn after a pleasant visit to Atlehampton House .We were given a very warm welcome and our meals of crispy beef followed by the steak and potato pie washed down with a very nice glass of wine hit the spot. The music was a bit intrusive for a while but was turned... More

superb local pub, well-thought out interior results in good atmosphere. Very friendly, great service and good food. One minus point - they have had at times had annoying pop music playing - which can and does spoil the atmosphere

Warm welcome, nice decor, great food and excellent specials evenings. We went for the curry night there were four different curries laid on, plus accompaniments, a starter, drink & Indian dessert very good value.

My husband and I had a Saturday lunch here recently en route for Bournemouth from Somerset. We had been before with friends and as this latest visit was on a Saturday in August we expected it to be as crowded as then. When we arrived there was only one other and even when we left there were only about a... More

Found the pub by chance when taking a detour to learn about the famous 'Martyrs'. The lunch we had was excellent. Great menu, great food, great service and great value. We selected the roasted vegetable tart, steak and potato pie, and the cheese platter, with local cheeses.

We chose the pub for a family rendezvous point (we came from Cornwall and Sussex). The staff were very accommodating as we stayed in the resteraunt area for most of the afternoon. The pub was moderately busy and staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. The food and atmosphere was very adequate. Although not likely to be a regular, we would... More

The inn is in great location for learning about the start of the trade union movement. The food is of great quality, with a varied menu. I visited as a small group on tour. They are friendly towards all on the group and happy to help and accommodate a group with a minimum of fuss. I will be visiting again.... More

After visiting the Tolpuddle Martyr Museum we decided to pop in to the nearby pub for a beer and bite to eat. The Badger ales being served at the bar were as expected and while busy, the service was prompt, polite and cheerful. My wife initially selected a smoked salmon & prawn salad and I went for the chicken, prawn... More
