Excellent choice of meals, free salad with every main which is nice, friendly staff, and a nice atmosphere. Will definitely visit again when in the area!

Myself and my husband popped in here for a lunch yesterday 23june 2015 for lunch with our baby. We ordered crispy beef and the soup to start, the beef was drenched in sweet chilli sauce, it was eaten as I was starving. My husband had the soup, he said it was salty but again ate it. We both ordered the... More

Dear Mrsmurph2013 Thanks for the review.. I think.. We appreciate the time you took to review us, but I am surprised that you did not make any mention of your dissatisfaction with the "lovely pleasant girl" who served you. The lovely pleasant girl - who works on a Tuesday - is a superstar, I would trust her with my life..I... More

Ok service. Food is al-right but had better. Curry night is a great idea, but even the mild curry is far to hot.... some of the curries are over spiced and taste very curry powdery. It is very cold in the winter and drift makes it feel worse, I use to use this place alot when I moved here, BUT... More

Dear Andi N I wonder where the motivation for the review came from? Lets look at your other reviews....... oh my...... its the next pub down the road...... reviewed on the same day....... coincidence? If you have a complaint you should have complained when you visited.. for anyone who missed that small point, the visit was in February and the... More

Trying to find somewhere to eat on the go, we discovered this countryside pub in Tolpuddle. A charming quiet village where we sat outside eating baguettes and fries. The restaurant also catered for children and the food was very clean, well prepared and pleasant.

My friends and I came here a couple of weeks ago and had such an amazing time! One of my friends is gluten free which is normally a bit of trouble but the staff were so helpful, they had highlighted all the items on the menu that my friend could have and even had some gluten free rolls! She throughly... More

Had a meal Saturday night 19.00. 6 June. Booked a table as it was week-end and would recommend booking at week end as it was busy and they were turning people away. The menu has something for everyone. Friendly service. Food was excellent . I had Martyrs Inn steak Hotpot, Prime steak, real ale gravy, potato top. Buttered veg and... More

We visited this pub twice during a weeks break in the area. On both occasions we really enjoyed both the food and the friendly service by the staff. The menu isn't long but but is reasonably varied. The only real negative comment is that the beer wasn't that great and my perennial moan that few places seem to understand kids... More

We ate here couple of times on a previous holiday staying just up the road from this place so decided to give it a another go. Found it very hit and miss two average meals out of three and quiet pricey for what was on offer.

Although we thought the menu was limited, the food we ordered was fantastic. The staff were extremely friendly and professional. We are visiting family in Weymouth from South Wales and would definitely go back there next time we're in the area. Fantastic!!

This is my 3rd visit. The first was for a pint and a chat, and it was sunny, so we sat outside and took in the views of Dorset and the local village. Lovely. The second was for a sunday lunch - 6 of us - and I thought the carvery, with combined deal for drink and sweet was excellent... More

Hi Steve R I was pleased to read that you had a couple of really good visits, but was sad to read that the small cod spoilt your 3rd visit. I had a chat to the team, and it does appear that one of the party of walkers who were in the pub, had a large cod instead of a... More
