Our first visit this year half way through our country walk. This is a friendly open place. We were recognised although we had not been there for about six months.Looking around portions were huge and our tea cake and cheese scone were more than adequate to refresh us on our way.Not sure what planet negative reviewers love on as we are always... In the summer half of the year especially, we go regularly, as it is reasonable local to us. In the summer it is fab to sit in the garden and drink coffee and eat amazing cake, eat some great lunch dishes from the great menu and special board, or just drop in after a walk in the beautiful landscape for... After having a superb afternoon tea there last year, we thought we would try the Pensioner's lunch. On arrival - what a sorry state the garden looked on a lovely sunny day. It did not look as though anything had been cleaned up during the winter months - and outside dining is a bonus. The Pensioners Lunch was on the... More

You have to book a day ahead for the afternoon tea, but it's well worth doing. At first we were looking at the other tables and wondering whether we had made the right choice, but then everyone else was looking enviously at our table as first a plateau of sandwiches and savouries was followed by a second plateau containing a... A quaint little tea room in a small village setting offering a small menu of what would appear to be wonderful foods. We arrived at 4.15 and so only able to have afternoon tea which was no problem. Massively generous sized scones with a good serving of clotted cream and jam, not to mention the largest pot of tea ;-)... More

Wasn't expecting more than a pot of tea and a tea cake but ...how wrong can you be ? Lovely friendly service although the girls were two men ( women ) down on what must have been one of the first sunny and borderline warm Fridays this year. They are licensed (I cancelled my pot of tea in favour of... More

A lovely converted old school, we only stopped for coffee but couldn't resist their home-made scones as well - we tried a ginger and treacle and a cheese one, both delicious. The church across the road is a must while in the area - it is a real little gem with its etched glass windows and connection to T E... More

Delightful rustic tea rooms. Our waitress was friendly and very helpful. The Mothers day Menu choices were great, and hard to chose from! All meals were home cooked and delicious and very well presented. Our party of 9, all very happy with their meals! It was a lovely Mothers Day Lunch!

Wonderfully rustic converted schoolhouse setting, a warm welcome & accommodating staff prior to our arrival when we had to ask to change our booking. The menu was varied, interesting & we'll priced. The service was efficient & friendly. The food was delicious, good portion size, fresh tasty ingredients, attractively presented, cooked beautifully. A thoroughly lovely lunch enjoyed very much by...
