Recently moved to the area and have just discovered the tea rooms at Moreton. The staff are so friendly and helpful, the tea, coffee and cakes excellent and the surroundings are just so relaxing.

These tea room was a good favourite if mine, I brought a friend over and had been banging on about how good it was. However in the day, last week, the place was dirty, our meals brought separately, I ate mine before his arrived, he said to eat it while it's hot his was bound to follow on. The waitresses... More

I have visited the tea rooms on several occasions over the years as my grandfather lived locally and we would always pop in for tea and cake when we came to visit him. Unfortunately my grandfather passed away recently, and as it was one of his favourite places to visit, we decided that we would come down after his funeral... More

Moreton Tea Rooms is a lovely, reassuring oasis, in a rural haven which nestles in countryside that is itself quite beautiful. At the time of writing, the current ranking is #44 of 106 restaurants in the Dorchester area. I agree with the previous review by Mike T of Dorchester. Moreton Tea Rooms should be higher up the rankings - easily Top... More

We stayed locally and the owner of the property we stayed in suggested that we might like to visit here. It was probably fortunate for our waistlines that we only managed to do so as we left and then only for a cup of tea and a scone/cake. The tea rooms are situated in an old school house and there... Having emailed ahead to enquire about gluten free options I was told that they usually have bread, cake and scones available but to ring first to check if I was travelling far. I wasn't so I didn't. The menu offered several gf meals but as I only wanted a sandwich I opted for one of the many options available. Their... More

Proper cup of tea, with the choice of savory or sweet scones. Delicious ginger scones with local gooseberry jam, sat in the back patio, very relaxing!

Delicious salad with broad beans, local ewes' cheese, other delicious things and lots of flowers, yummy! 40 minute waiting time, but that was fine for us as we were on holiday and had nothing else to do! Others might moan, justifiably? A similar issue in a metropolitan restaurant resulted in small nibbles, to keep the punters happy. Just a thought.... More

Great secluded and sheltered courtyard. The tea rooms were deceptively large but were a former school. The service was quick and efficient. The food was good and the menu varied. It was also reasonably priced. Enjoyed the visit.
