Lovely

Me and my boyfriend visited last night for the wine and pie night and we had a lovely meal. There is a small selection of pies to choose from which you can have with a glass of wine or a pint for £11. I had the prawn and hake pie which was topped with mashed potato and came with veg... read more

We had a wonderfully enjoyable experience at this delightful pub in July 2015. The service was impeccable and the food lived up to the "highly recommended" status that we were told to expect. The menu was very comprehensive and many diners were eating the pub's obviously renowned fish and chips.Visiting the area for three days, the beautiful village of West... More

West Stafford is a delightful Dorset village with an superb restaurant. We has a fabulous meal as a family with young children whilst on holiday. The menu presented great choice for both adults and children, with the food living up to our expectations for each. Staff were attentive and friendly.

The food here was exceptional for a pub style restaurant. One of the people I was with had a special diet and the staff were so helpful with this. And the food was delicious, we are sorry we do not live in the area but we will be back!

Food is very high standard and really tasty. Bar is great and Staff Friendly. The only thing this pub needs it to keep the toilets smelling a little fresher after three visits now they smelt each time and this wouldn't take much to change. other than that this pub is superb.

Always loved this place and not having been for a while decided to go for Sunday lunch today. Maybe we were just unlucky but things seem to have declined since our last visit. My meal was fine with a great selection of vegetables, however my partner had to send hers back as the Turbot, which looked lovely, was raw in... More

I was treated to Sunday Lunch by friends whilst visiting the area and was very impressed. I have to say that the selection of vegetables that came with our roast beef was the best I have ever had in a restaurant. The choice was amazing topped off by crispy roast potatoes which are very rare these days. Oh, and delicious... More

Great thatched pub with delicious food. Lovely garden and they provide blankets if you feel a bit chilly!

Would definately recommend The Wise Man - very friendly helpful team of young people, great beer according to my husband who was delighted to find his two favourite ales, Timothy Taylor's Landlord and St Austell Brewery's Tribute, and smashing food. Good choice on the menu, but not too much choice, we all had something different, all really delicious and well... More

A 15 minute drive from Sculpture by the Lakes, the Wise Man was a terrific choice for lunch afterwards. My partner and I had been once before and were hoping to impress our guests with the quality of food. We were not disappointed! The fish of the day was Brill with an innovative timbale of crushed potatoes, olives and lobster... More
