All day breakfast

Had the half English breakfast on Saturday. That's one of everything! The full is of course bigger. Omg delicious. Piping hot and plenty. Proper home cooked food. All good quality and not greasy. Were turning people away at lunchtime so very busy which confirms its popularity. Well done.

When we visit Dorchester this is ALWAYS our favoured eaterie. The personal service of a genuine independent shines through above all the soulless chains now sadly encroaching on this town. The homecooked food is really tasty, good value and good quality. Thank heavens they haven't fallen into the trap of quantity over quality. Long may they continue as we'll be... More

One of our regular weekend stops for a cooked breakfast or light lunch. The staff are all polite and attentive, food to a good standard and the place has a great feel. We like it when the fire is going on cold winter mornings and seems to make the food taste even better. The 'Half English' is our best pick... More

We were travelling back from the west country and stopped off at Dorchester hoping to find somewhere to eat and relax on a Sunday lunchtime. We walked around for quite a while and without much success until we stumbled upon Potters tucked away in a side street off the main shopping area. We count ourselves as being very fortunate to... First visit to Potters Café in about 20 years. Used to eat here regularly so was really pleased to find it still open and not much altered. The café was very busy and no table available. I was approached by a member of staff who took my name and phone number and told me she would reserve us a table... More

Asked a local where to have lunch and they directed us to this bistro. It was like an oasis on a really miserable wet day. We had a friendly welcome and sat at a large wooden table. We chose Homity pie which my mother used to make when we lived in Devon and it certainly came up to expectations. It... More

Another little gem tucked off the High street. Came here today for a bite with my aunt and cousin. A great whopping cappaucino, and we each chose sandwiches. Bacon and Brie, Tuna mayo and green onions, a ham and chutney. Absolutely divine. The salad on the plates was fresh and crisp, not drowning in dressing, Well presented food, I can... More

Had lunch here today attracted by an interesting menu However the New York style pastrami and Gruyere sandwich on rye bread was disappointing . Rye bread or did they mean dry bread? No excuse for serving up stale bread. Also not sure the cheese was actually gruyere

I am sorry you found your sandwich disappointing, we do always check with our customers to make sure they enjoyed their meals, and we don't recall anyone complaining about the New York sandwich, if we knew we would of changed it for you, or dealt with your complaint at the time.I can assure you the cheese in the sandwich was... Lunch is just that bit better at Potters. Love the grilled sardines and had a great sharing platter with my mum! Do like the decor but it's the food that's good. Simple, well thought out lunches cooked well.

Great place to take a group. Our family of: 2 adults, a teenager with hollow legs, an 8 year old who is a bit fussy and our rescue lab x. Everyone had a lunch they enjoyed very much and lots of fuss made of the dog. For those who are not so keen on dogs, there is a lovely seating... More
