A great find.

We stopped in Dorchester for lunch and found Potters. We initially nearly walked away as it was so busy but got lucky as a table became free. The service was great, the atmosphere equally so. I had the half breakfast, which was delicious and bigger than I expected! My husband had a tuna sandwich... read more

Let's start with the good. Cosy open fire creating a warm atmosphere. Relaxed furnishings and layout and as a prior reviewer wrote, "unpretentious". Sandwich was tasty, local ham with pickle. I can imagine the garden is beautiful on a sunny day. The bad. The coffee. Yucky. Got through about a third of my cappuccino then had to stop. Poor flavour... More

Would just like to say what a lovely experience we had at the Potters Cafe today, all the staff were very friendly and attentive. The food was excellent and served to us very quickly, very reasonably priced too and a lovely relaxed atmosphere. We will definitely visit again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend to friends and family.

Visited for lunch with girlfriends earlier this month (March). The printed menu has all the cafe classics you would expect to find - sandwiches, jacket pots, salads etc, some with an individual twist - but the specials board is really special! A really creative selection made it hard to choose, but we were all really happy with our choices, and... More

I love this place, and go most weeks. I tend to have the same food each time (either baked potato or macaroni cheese) but that's my choice. The staff always greet me cheerfully, and I feel very comfortable being here on my own, which is not always the case in cafés. With a book, a diet coke and meal, it's... More

I've been going to Dorchester regularly for a year or so, and my usual lunch spot was unfortunately closed on my last visit, so I headed roamed for a short while before finding Potters. The cafe is small and cosy, with the open fire being a great touch. I had a foccacia sandwich and a flat white for a swift... More

Came here for lunch on a very busy New Year’s Eve. The cafe was very popular and every table full but despite this the service and food were excellent and the staff were friendly and good humoured. One of us had the Potter’s Club Sandwich (very generous), one had the pasta dish, one had the chicken sandwich and one had... More

I took my family for a quick lunch while in dorchester. My daughter aged 1 was made to feel at home. the staff managed to be extremely polite even though they were short staffed and clearly busy as the tables upstairs and downstairs were all full and being turned over left right and centre. The staff even took car of... More

Me and my family were driving through Dorchester a few weeks ago, and asked a friendly local where the best place to go for a meal was; their reply was "Potters Cafe Bistro, and have the Lamb Tagine, trust me!", so we headed off to there. Once inside we were greeted & treated very homely, and asked to take a... More
