Lunch is just that bit better at Potters. Love the grilled sardines and had a great sharing platter with my mum! Do like the decor but it's the food that's good. Simple, well thought out lunches cooked well.

Great place to take a group. Our family of: 2 adults, a teenager with hollow legs, an 8 year old who is a bit fussy and our rescue lab x. Everyone had a lunch they enjoyed very much and lots of fuss made of the dog. For those who are not so keen on dogs, there is a lovely seating... More

Fabulous range of cafe food and drinks. Very busy though and service when busy was actually very poor. Food and ambiance made up for. Friendly customers too. Fabulous breakfasts.

I visit Dorchester for a week every couple of years and always end up returning to the Potters for lunch. Its sandwiches and soups are superb, its overall menu imaginative in its use of top quality ingredients, its central location convenient, its dining areas (including an open-air courtyard) charming, and its staff efficient and friendly (and this despite the fact... I am a little bemused by the comments above from the dog owners and wonder if I have visited the same Potters? Always friendly staff, even when my husband and I have visited with our wet pooch following a stroll to the river on Sunday mornings. He loves the treats offered to him from the cupboard under the stairs. Food... More

We only popped in for a pot of tea, before our journey home but we were greeted by a member of staff as we walked through the outside seating area. They were near to closing up, but didn't turn us away.We had a nice chat with the staff as they prepared things for the next day.

We recently visited the Potters Café and thoroughly enjoyed the dishes we ordered. We ordered a range of dishes this being four specials. The four specials consisted of Sea Bass with market vegetables and a bed of garlic potatoes, homemade mackerel, salad and granary bread and the homemade beef burgers with all the trimmings. The food was wonderfully presented and... More

We found this pretty little bistro last Saturday. My wife had the home-made cheeseburger and chips - very nice. It was home made and the chips were home-made, cooked twice, just the way they should be. I had the charcuterie board, cold meats, warm sausage and chutney, bread and butter and salad with dressing and olives. Wow, such a lot... More

From the street this café did not look so promising but once inside the door we realised that we had stumbled on a gem. We had cake and a drink. Everything lovely, including the efficient staff. Attractive inside and outside seating. When we return to Dorchester we intend to have lunch at Potter's Café not just a tea break.

Dogs welcome???? Not allowed to sit on terrace where there was an unoccupied table in the shade. Instead we were confined to an uncomfortable table in a cramped space between 3 very busy doors in full sun (no shade for the dogs). Dogs welcome? I don’t think so! We were basically treated like leppers and humiliated in front of the... More

I am so sorry you had a bad experience at Potters, the tables in question in the garden were reserved I'm afraid, apart from reserved tables we do allow our customers to sit where they choose, we all love our four legged friends and always make them feel welcome, as many of our customers have told us, and have commented...
