Little gem

We've been to dorchester twice now on holiday and remembered the cafe from last year. It never fails to disappoint. The food is excellent, staff are polite and friendly. Sadly we didn't try the cakes and other items but will try them in the future as it all looks lovely.

If you want fresh local ingredients then look no further than Potters for their full English breakfast. And if you don't have a big appetite, their half portion is just right. Thick quality sausages and bacon, fresh mushrooms and I love the baked beans in their individual pot. Lashings of toast with butter. I have given this cafe quite a... More

We have been coming to this cafe for many years, the owners Sara and Russ work hard to keep up the quality and consistency of the meals produced. I look forward each week to see the changes on the the specials board. The lamb tagine is delicious but that is one of many choices that are on offer. My husband... More

We recently had a light lunch here and we sat in the pretty garden at the rear of the building. The building itself is old with beams and bare brick walls and lots of character. We really enjoyed our lunch and decided to visit soon afterwards, when we had family visitors, for Sunday breakfast. Unfortunately the breakfast was disappointing. Most... More

Thank you for your review, I am glad you liked your lunch, the garden and the building, I am however saddened at the fact you didn't enjoy your breakfast. We would certainly never use tinned mushrooms, or poor quality ingredients, our vegetables and sausages are locally sourced from suppliers that have amazing reputations. We have a really good following for... More

We were visitors to Dorchester and looking for somewhere for coffee and cake. We'd seen a number of restaurants but they didn't seem to be what we were looking for. Fortunately the cafe has a signboard on the main high street otherwise we would have missed this little gem. We liked the look of the cafe from the outside and... More

Lovely place for lunch and the staff are so friendly and welcoming. Very good size portions and really fresh ,the dressing on the salad was a nice touch. Will certainly eat here again .

Me and some friends met for lunch on a very busy day, luckily we managed to find one of the last remaining tables upstairs, and we were delighted! The staff were all so friendly and efficient. I had the lamb burger off the specials board and it was delicious, would highly recommend, and they are dog friendly too!
