Good scoff

This is a cheery place in a bit of a back street, so you might miss it if you are not aware of it. Inside the space is a bit like a tardis, small downstairs, but opens up to a large garden and lots more seating upstairs. Nice décor and cheery staff. As for the food quality? Very good flavour... read more

Potter's Cafe is 'hidden' away down Durngate Street off the main thoroughfare in Dorchester. It is way too easy for the casual visitor to get seduced by the offerings of cafes nearer the main street but I would say the extra few yards is worth the effort. I evaluate restaurants on a TASK rating where T stands for Taste, A... More

I went to Dorchester for the first time in ages the other day. My better half had been raving about how good this cafe was for lunch as she has been coming here for a while. I just had to go, and wasn't disappointed. The goats cheese ciabatta I had was just superb. And for dessert a massive slice of... More

Me and my partner have eaten here a few times for lunch. They have a lovely menu all homemade, they have good portion sizes. They could do with some more seating as they do get very busy during lunch time hours.

Found this cafe whilst walking around Dorchester and what a find! Great value menu and friendly staff with a 5 star hygiene rating. Outside area to eat with upstairs seating as well- although raining so stayed inside. Two meals ordered- one jacket potatoe with salad and I had cheese sandwich with chutney and a nice salad- beware the sandwiches are... More

There is nothing better than sitting al fresco under a vine in the warm early summer sunshine in the middle of a town. Yes it was only a snack.... but a really good one delicious granary bread my wife and I shared Brie and Bacon and salmon and cucumber with a salad garnish and a couple of glasses of Sauvignon...
