We liked everything about this family oriented pub. There was a lot of activity, laughing, and conversation but it was not noisy or overbearing. The food was delicious and plentiful and both staff and other patrons were friendly and helpful. A great place to enjoy an evening meal.

A real local pup where the locals frequent. The food was good pub food. The costs were reasonable. It is dog friendly.

Four of us went to the Giant, for lunch on 6th June. The beer was very good indeed and the meal was good quality and not overpriced. The pub is very dog friendly and the landlord, landlady and the staff were very friendly. All in all I would recommend this pub as a "good honest traditional English pub" and we... More

Proper local pub with a mix of friendly locals and traditional pub fare. We had the Game Casserole from the specials board and the Gammon Steak from the menu. Both were excellent and good value for money. Not a restaurant pretending to be a pub but a real pub. Brilliant

A warme welcome on a cold day. We were ushered in, placed in front of a roaring fire and served a welcome real ale for him and decaff coffee for me. We were entertained by the arrival of the local ale dray woman....

Situated on the main street of Cerne, on the right, the Giant has been a pub for nearly 120 years, Serving good, honest English pub fare (pies, mash, fish etc) it is well worth a visit if you are looking for a good wholesome meal, and well kept beer.

I was there for lunch at the beginning of August and I had the best steak and ale pie I have ever had and it was served with superb homemade mashed potatoes. Friendly service.

We decided to call in at the Giant Inn when visiting the Cerne Abbas giant. There was a good selection of traditional English pub menu items (and a decent selection of beers, I seem to recall), served with a smile and we enjoyed the experience. Check out the skittles alley (full length!) in the back garden too. Would definitely consider... More

We stayed in Cerne Abbas last week, and were told by our B&B that this pub was 'cheap and cheerful'. Cheap it may have been - compared to the other pubs in the village, at least - but cheerful it most certainly was not! Before we had even finished our meals, at around 8.30pm, the music in the pub was... More
