At Escoffiers we have tomorrows chefs and restaurant staff in training. Each dish was carefully prepared and every member of our party enjoyed the food. The special Christmas menu, included a tantalising sorbet, which refreshed the palate between courses magnificently. My beef medallions were served on a smooth wild mushroom mattress (okay a bed). So succulent was the beef, the... More

Id had the restaurant on my list of to-do's for a while and on a drizzly dull day decided to just have a lunch out. Id been told when I booked that it would be the first occasion that this term's students had served in the actual restaurant, but that just added to the curiosity for me. Service was amongst... I cannot speak highly enough of this place. The food is first class and with 5 courses for £21 its a steal. Yes it is a training restaurant so people are learning but the service & effort they give puts most other restaurants to shame. You can only book for 7.15pm but that means the evenings are relaxed & enjoyable.... More

This is great. Some of the best food we have ever eaten, served and cooked by the students, fab food, great wine, great service and supporting local college. What's not to love. Can't believe that we could get a table, it's that good.

Yes, this is a training restaurant: do not go there for a hurried meal, but do go there for exceptional quality at a very modest price. The duck terrine was superb, and a decent quantity as was the salmon main course served with a wonderful sauce. For pudding I chose the cherries in batter etc - largely because it seemed... More

This is the restaurant of Bournemouth & Poole College with students creating and serving the food (supervised by qualified staff). The food really is delicious and cannot be faulted. I have eaten here on several occasions over a couple of years and I highly recommend it. Sure the service sometimes isn't what you get in other places but these are... More

I had an Xmas lunch here and it beat any meal I've had in previous restaurants including cruise ships and I've been on plenty. The starter (prawn/avocado) was a total masterpiece, the 2nd starter (and where else do you get 2) was equal to the first, and the entree arrived hot, beautifully presented and just the right amount of everything....
