Wonderful little gem near the town centre

Love visiting this pub whenever we are around the town centre. Great outside patio hidden in the back.

great beer standard pub grub. Good range of Marstons ales and good local ales. Food was fine but nothing out of the ordinary, but would definitely go back

Great traditional pub. We went there on a Sunday night, which is quiz night, which we joined in. Lots of locals attend. We were make to feel very welcome. Drinks are usual pub prices. They do serve food here. Can't comment on quality as we never ate there.

I stumbled on this place in a back street while walking around and what a find! It has an amazing selection of real and cask ales and some great food. Their Moo Pie (steak and kidney) was wonderful and came with a rich gravy and a side of chips. There's a pool table, darts and an outside seating area. Did... More

Just 5 mins from the pool Road Premier Inn, serving quality drinks and beers with a great food menu - mushy peas, crunchy crust homemade pies and mash with lashings of gravy - and jam roly poly with custard amongst other things. Fish and chips were very good too. Spoilt only slightly by luke warm mushy peas. Outdoor part covered... More

The only real ale pub in Bournemouth apparently. Well worth a visit. Its in a side street slightly out of the centre of town. Predominantly serving a range of Wadsworth beers but supplimented by several others. As a pervious post has said, you can tell a good beer pub if the first pint out tastes good. We visited at lunchtimes... More

Went to the "Goat" last week whilst on Holiday. Three reall;y good things about this Pub, in no particular order. The Beer is excellent, with a good choice, the Landlady is friendly and welcoming, the sign at the front door says no persons under 18 years of age allowed. The latter is brilliant , because it is a treat to go... More

I went to the Goat & tricycle on Saturday evening with my wife, two grown-up children & three of their Uni friends. Although it was quite busy people were coming and going so we soon managed to get a table. There were no unpleasant smells contrary to some reviews, the food was good and the ales, wines & other drinks... More

I was beginning to think there were no real pubs in Bournemouth but luckily the other half remembered this gem from 20 years ago but not where it was located so quick google search (50 yards from our hotel as it turns out!). This would definitely be my local if I lived on south Coast - excellent selection of Ales,... More

Met here with a friend a few days ago and what a lovely pub. Staff were very friendly and gave good recommendations for food. Went with the meat pie with mash, mushy peas and gravy and it was bloody lovely! It came out in a good length of time so wasn't left hungry and waiting. It had a great atmosphere... More
