Real Pub

A mate of mine who is an expert in real ales and venues where it's sold advised me to find this pub whilst in Bournemouth for a weekend. A proper pub rather than the run down sports bars in the town centre. A large selection of real ales and decent food as well. Well worth taking the time to... read more

We went here as our hotel was nearby and it was on the way into town. Found excellent reviews on here so thought we'd give it a try. The pub itself is ok but certainly nothing special. Yes it has character and is a bit old fashioned...which is what makes it appealing to "real ale drinkers" I suppose. Not being... More

We visited this pub as it was only down the road from our hotel. The bar staff were friendly and welcoming. There is a wide selection of beer with 12 ales on draught. Staff were selling raffle tickets for a meat raffle and the prizes looked good I was sorry that I did not win anything! Definitely be back in... More

Great range of Ales on offer, good attentive service and the food was excellent. Highly reccomended. I had the vegetarian Heidi Pie which was very flavoursome and healthy, my friend had the Bacon Burger which he thought was very good.

My husband is a real ale fan and always does his homework on real ale pubs when we are in a new area. This one did not disappoint. There were 11 real ales the two nights we called and my husband was happy with his choices. It is a no-bother pub full of character and mixed ages of clients. They... More

Excellent quality ales with a good choice. Friendly staff, helpful and knowledgeable. Separate drinking areas including a quiet but well furnished outside yard make this a better choice than some of the beach front offerings. Worth seeking out if you're in Bournemouth, or close by.

Love visiting this pub whenever we are around the town centre. Great outside patio hidden in the back.

Great traditional pub. We went there on a Sunday night, which is quiz night, which we joined in. Lots of locals attend. We were make to feel very welcome. Drinks are usual pub prices. They do serve food here. Can't comment on quality as we never ate there.
