It's apparently very good for real ales but as neither of us drink ale we had never visited. However, a few weeks ago, a pouring with rain night, we fell into The Goat and... More

I hestiated where to go for a beer with a couple of friends. Having heard it was a good place I decided to give it a try and it was a very good decision. Helpful, knowledgeable team is great there. It's not a touristy place with a great choice of beers and i will definitely go there again

A great little pub normally but today the staff really were suffering from a bad case of can't-be-arsedness. Eventually got a drink but it really was service with a grimace

We spent many an evening here last summer. Enjoyed the beer garden, welcoming staff and reasonable drinks prices. Always enjoyed a good evening out. Fast forward to miserable January and you have to wait ages to get served by a young girl that left her charm and personality at home. The prices have gone up too. £740 for 2 pints... More

Long time since I submitted a review of the Goat, so its good to say that it is as good as ever. The choice of properly kept bitters is amazing, the service is good, and the food piping hot and tasty.

We came here for a bit of a hair of the dog on new years day and for a bit of pub grub. We were not dissappointed. barman was very friendly, we had a drink and ordered our food. Nice atmosphere and began to get quite busy as we were drinking up, clearly a top local. The food was delicious... More

as good as it was a year ago! A warm welcome greets you as you walk in the door, plenty of Ale choice and other drinks. Good Pub food as it should be. Dog friendly too so a bonus for me.

Great staff, very friendly, pretty good food, good variety of ales, bar snacks, good pub quiz on Sunday evening at 8.30pm (with charismatic quiz master). Nice and friendly locals, dogs welcome, students, older people etc all there. They've just put in some more tables and stools as it does get busy!!! Great old pub feel and interior, and very useful... More
