We went away for the week end and wanted to find an old style pub to relax and get a meal.this pub was great, friendly larger than it looked from outside but just what we wanted.normally have a drink then move on but stayed till the end as we felt content and relaxed. The outside space is fantastic with comfy seating... Excellent range of Beers featuring Wadsworth Brewery mainly but also some others. Evening meal was very good, the special was goat curry which went down well and the staff were very friendly.

A good choice of ales but a basic menu and not overly well presented when the food arrived, think it could have just been a reheat job. The pub was full of locals drinking with a few having the beef burgers from the menu. The pub served it's purpose in getting us a dog friendly venue with food that was... More

We came here for a quick drink during our recent trip. We were tempted by something to eat, but decided to save ourselves for the Mad Cucumber instead. The bar is a short walk away from the centre. The atmosphere was quite pleasant, with nice sofas and comfortable chairs. My husband was perfectly happy with the beer selection and the... More

Having visited this Pub twice in the last year, I have to stay the meals are overpriced for what they are worth - you pay for presentation, but the meals are tasty! The Moo Pie (Steak and Ale) was lovely and the lashings of tasty gravy..yummy! The Jam Roly Poly and Custard was exceptional and to be honest the desert... More

One of the very few real ale pubs in Bournemouth, with excellent ales on tap.The only gripe I have is the price, average £3.80 a pint I dont pay that in my favourite real ale pub in the City of Brum which has a larger selection. We did eat here and it was acceptable with small portions overall a good... More

Before going to Bournemouth I did some research on dog friendly pubs. This one came up so on our arrival after a 6 hour journey from Bury Lancashire we decided to 'give it a go'. What a find. Off the tourist track, very welcoming staff, a huge selection of real ales and a superb menu of home cooked food. There... More

Enjoy real ale and the pool table, crowd it attracts seems to be more mature (which makes a nice change in Bournemouth). Really let down by a certain fellow in there, he seems to 'accidently' short change me at least once (to the extent that he 'forgot' that I had given a £20 note over a £10). Felt uncomfortable in... Probably the best Real Ale pub in the Bournemouth Triangle area, but not a family pub. Didn't get to try any food, however just as a warning, there is a Very Strict Licence condition of NO under 18's which was disappointing as had our 16 year old daughter with us early evening and would have eaten here but for this....
