The Urban Reef is an informal bar, cafe, deli and restaurant located right on the beach. We have our own farm where we grow much of our own produce and we're passionate about local, ethical and seasonal food. We have some of the best views in the country right over the bay and are just a few metres from the sand. Cafe by day and restaurant by night with our own in house baker and incredible coffee we look forward to looking after you anytime of the day. We're fans of praise in public and criticise in private, so any problems, ideally email the owner Mark we'll try to make things up to you. Any praise then please tell TripAdvisor and the world. Nice Lunch

Quick service, reasonable prices, lovely food. Nice selection of beers/ cider and the fruit smoothies were nice too. Was busy when we went so not very quiet. Would come back again!

Very expensive when you think about the quality of the products and services that you are getting in this place. Very busy, very good location but not really happy. Wouldnt reccommend to go there for a nice and relaxing pints with your friends.

I went to dinner with my wife and a friend to Urban Reef on Valentine's Day. As expected, the restaurant upstairs was fully booked, but the bar downstairs still had a few free tables. We got there just before the sunset so we could experience the scenic views without having to endure the outside cold. I had some Moules marinière... More

We often stroll along the promenade at end up at Urban Reef - usually deliberately - for a coffee of breakfast/brunch/snack/drink. The venue is in a great location, it is a trendy environment and the food and drinks are good quality at reasonable prices - and the staff are always very friendly. It can get busy at peak times because... More

We visited for lunch on a Tuesday in February (not half term) and this place was packed! We didn't have a problem getting a table though and it was a nice busy atmosphere with good service despite how busy it was. It was a sunny day and the glass front meant it was possible to really enjoy the sun as... More

Myself and my fiancé went here for lunch one Saturday. It was so busy that people were queuing outside in the cold!? ( why couldn't they wait inside ???!!) I understand that Saturday's are a very busy day but the food and service was rubbish. We had burgers and we couldn't even bite it, it was sooo hard and over... More

After reading all the great reviews for Urban Reef we decided to find this restaurant as we were on a mini break with our small dog Location is good as it's on the seafront which makes for a great view. . . Urban Reef is certainly dog friendly & each table has a water & food bowl next to it.... More

Having visited Urban Reef a couple of times, it always seems busy which is a good sign. Buzzing inside and food is lovely whether it be mains otherwise. I have had a very good souflee there amongst other things. Lovely in the summer as right on the beachfront so you can just sit and idly people watch whilst enjoying some... More
