Pretty tea room

Lovely friendly staff, delicious warmed scone with butter and jam, lovely lemon cake and a wide range of teas. A lovely treat.

We visited Vintage Teas on our annual holiday in 2014, having discovered it by accident, and were so impressed we went to Totnes this year specifically to have lunch there. We remembered the quiet atmosphere (there is a no mobile phones rule) and the air conditioning as a welcome break from the summer heat. This year, however, while the air... More

Whether we have booked a table or just turn up the waitress are always accommodating. The tea selection is varied and very tasty. The toasted sandwiches are to die for and then there's the scones and cakes. Easily the best we've ever tried. So light and fluffy and totally indulgent. Service is always fantastic and toilets are luxury. Will be... More

A beautiful tea room which has fresh and airy decor and elegant and beautifully presented crockery to complement the superb cakes, sandwiches and of course tea. This is by far the best tea room we have been to. The afternoon tea is delightful and the cakes are fantastic. It's a real treat. Good service too.

This is a very nice place to drink tea and eat home made cake. Fine bone china and a feeling of stepping back in time, this is the sort of place tourists from abroad would adore.

Have been impressed on a previous visit, we recommended a return visit with family, what a change! Service from the time of arrival was poor when wished to sit at a table we were told that it had been reserved for 75 minutes later and we could only sit there if our order was restricted to scones and or cake,... We sat down today just before 1.15 and ordered. At 1.35 nothing had arrived. No tea, no cakes, no wine, no sandwiches. I asked the waitress what was happening as we wete on a trip and only had until 2.15 to be served and eat. She said she would find out. Waited . Waited. Waited. In tne end we said... More

Apparently tea shops abound in Totnes but this was the first one we stumbled upon. What a pleasure it was. It's a bright airy place where we received a charming welcome and cheerful, efficient service from the all female staff. Everything is home made and it's such a change to be served with fresh well filled sandwiches. The carrot and... More

This place is an absolute gem. Inside it is light, cool and attractive with excellent staff and a large range of delicious cakes and pastries to satisfy even the most demanding customer. Everything is home-made to the highest standard and, if you go to Totnes for nothing else, a visit to Vintage Tea is a must. Probably the best tea... More
