Best food - shepherdless pie - this was yummy Worst - not much for dairy free 2 yr olds The cafe was popular and busy at lunchtime. Staff were friendly and did their best to help. I used to eat in the Cranks restaurant in Tottenham Court Rd many years ago. Nice to see the essential quality of the... read more

Having enjoyed a fabulous veggie lunch at Cranks some 20 years ago, we were really looking forward to a repeat performance when we were once again in the area for a family wedding. We called in at 12.30 pm on a Saturday when they should have been fired up ready for the lunch-time trade only to find that only the... More

As a veteran vegetarian I am aware of Cranks and we routinely cook from the Cranks cookbooks. Needless to say our expectations were running high. At first we were disappointed by the cafeteria which lay before us. Nevertheless we forged on because we came for the food. Though fresh, the food lacked taste and my favorite Homity pie fell flat.... More

The food was excellent although the hot dishes could only really be described as warm. The staff were as lovely helpful friendly and unfocussed as ever. All falling over themselves ... It was a lovely day and quite busy. The layout of the place cannot help! I will return!

I love lunching at this place. There is a great selection of really tasty and interesting hot and cold vegetarian foods. Great salads. Eaten here a few times now, and always love it. Food is tasty, good value. There is a lovely outdoor seating area that is sunny and picturesque. Highly recommend if you are in the area.

Lovely meal but, be sure to book as they run our of things. So you can pre book meals and they will put them on one side for you. Salad section to die for

We love visiting the Shops at Dartington and did so recently for the Food Festival. This cafe is a safe bet offering good quality home cooking. The fruit crumble is to die for. All the hot food and sandwiches look appetising. Nice outdoor courtyard framed with wisteria - perfect to enjoy delicious scones and local jam and cream.

Good selection of unusual vegetarian dishes and choice of teas. Seating indoors and outdoors in the garden. Friendly staff. Good value for money.

Cheese and leek tart with a side of cous cous, bean salad, and red cabbage coleslaw. Washed down with a large glass of apple fizz. All very tasty. Disappointed the red cabbage slaw isn't in the current recipe book on sale. Decor might need a bit of an update but couldn't fault the food or service. A delight to find a... More

Had lunch here yesterday and was happily surprised! I had cauliflower and broccoli cheese with salad, which was really nice. I have been veggie over 30 years and eaten here several times, and this was by the far the best time. The food was tasty and delicious, and no sign of that overly worthy 70's style vegetarianism that I fear... More
