Well worth walking to the top of the hill to visit this brilliant tea shop. Real tea (leaves not bags) served in beautiful china crockery. Excellent cakes and snacks.

Really good tea and friendly staff. The cakes are really tasty and the tea is made with tea leaves not bags, best tea shop in Totnes

This little gem sits on the top end of the main street, up a fairly steep hill so you will be needing a nice cuppa and big slice of cake when you get here. The place is little, cramped and serves as a tearoom as well as an antique shop. Full of little knick knacks and the tea is served... More

Called in for a coffee and cake. Staff pleasant and helpful, coffee delicious and a lovely choice of cakes available. Would go back again.

Found this place whilst exploring Totnes on a gloomy afternoon. There was candlelight, fabulous cakes and extraordinarily good tea. Proper, pretty china. The decor is a bit Ye Olde Tea Shoppe but with a modern, funny twist that knocked tweeness on the head. The tea list is extensive, highly educational and surprising. A good experience.

I'm not sure how many tea rooms serve Rooibos tea with leaves rather than bags, but this one did, so impressed me. The atmosphere is dim and quiet - unless you are unfortunate enough to experience noisy chatty neighbours, as I did (why do people assume complete strangers want to know their family affairs?). The scones were heading towards good... More

We found this by chance on our visit to Totnes, if you like old fashioned china and surroundings you will love a break from shopping here. We had good coffee and toasted teacakes served under a china cover to keep them warm. As with previous reviewers we did feel our waiter was rather dour!

What a fabulous tea shop. We had a wonderful time - such a choice of teas (loose leaf, of course), bone china, silver teapots, yummy cakes - with cake forks (!), and an array of old interesting china & glass to purchase raising money for charity. Our waiter had a stunning moustache too. Our 13 year old daughter wants to... More
