Beautiful interior and great cakes !! Wonderful teas too, but the staff not helpful , impatient and don't smile... Won't come back!!!!
What a find! A real tea room with delicious home made cakes and proper tea. Beautiful china cups and saucers and excellent service. We would. Definitely reccomend this and would love to return.
I'm not sure how many tea rooms serve Rooibos tea with leaves rather than bags, but this one did, so impressed me. The atmosphere is dim and quiet - unless you are unfortunate enough to experience noisy chatty neighbours, as I did (why do people assume complete strangers want to know their family affairs?). We found this by chance on our visit to Totnes, if you like old fashioned china and surroundings you will love a break from shopping here. We had good coffee and toasted teacakes served under a china cover to keep them warm. As with previous reviewers we did feel our waiter was rather dour!
What a fabulous tea shop. We had a wonderful time - such a choice of teas (loose leaf, of course), bone china, silver teapots, yummy cakes - with cake forks (!), and an array of old interesting china & glass to purchase raising money for charity. Our waiter had a stunning moustache too. Our 13 year old daughter wants to... More
We are partial to relaxing in tea rooms with earl grey tea and delicious cake and Greys is a phenomenal tea room, full of character, a proper tea room with large ferns in the window, bric a brac and teashop collectables. As others have said, well worth the walk up the hill. The tea was loose leaf with strainers (always... More
Always enjoy a visit to Greys a really old fashioned tea shop delicious cakes well presented sandwiches. Its nice to drink from a cup and have a teapot and strainer just like teatime when I was small.
Greys is a bit of a hidden gem. It's at the top of the high street in Totnes and it is worth the walk. The window is packed with a mixture of collectables and cake, which I think is a great combination. Inside is like something out of a Dicken's novel.Loads of teapots and what I like to call "ladycups" the sort that... More
This is a lovely tea shop serving wonderful cakes and teas. Not child friendly given the size but lovely place to meet friends. Usually the food lovely but recent visit I chose cheese scones which tasted like a pot of salt had accidentally fallen in, however ugly recommend the amazing homemade cakes.
