A charming cafe set in woodland aside Berry Pomery Castle. Good coffee and other drinks, fresh sandwiches and soups, cakes and tray-bakes. Locally sourced products. Our coffee is roasted just a few miles away and is an organic blend. We use organic milk and offer soya milk too. We light the wood burner often and right through the winter. Gluten free scones and brownies available.

WOW

We were amazed at the quality of the food in what can only be described as a small shack. The menu is small but interesting with a French bias. I had a hot salmon salad Nicoise and my husband had the fish soup. Both were absolutely excellent with fresh ingredients and good sized portions.

Hi Churchtown, Thank you for your great review- We're really glad you enjoyed dining with us! As well as keeping our classic dishes (Such as the fish soup and the Salmon Nicoise), we also frequently add new dishes to our menu to keep it fresh and seasonal, so we'd love to see you again soon! More

After walking round the excellent Berry Pomeroy Castle we noticed the little cafe and decided to stop for a drink. It was so clean and well presented, with a wonderful view of the castle and we were made to feel so welcome we decided to have the cream tea. It was the best cream tea we had ever had. Keep... More

I've previously had a cream tea at the Castle Cafe, but I had promised my Mum, who was down to visit, the best cream tea ever, and she is quite the connoisseur. She was by no means disappointed. Every cream tea, which was quite a few, eaten for the remainder of her holiday was compared to that at the Castle... More

Had to kill a bit of time while family went round the castle, as we had the dogs with us...I only had a coffee as I had eaten a late lunch, but intend to go back as the food looked delicious. The manager couldn't have been more welcoming/friendly. Loved it.

What a fabulous end to a great trip to the castle..the castle trip was amazing and.worth every penny but without the Devon cream tea with genuine friendly service and the definite home made warm scones with excellent tea and a veranda view in a wooded sheltered sunny pitch the day wouldn't be complete... It's a sad day if you miss... More

We visited Totnes for the day and found this gem of a place for lunch. The food was delicious, we had lovely homemade soup, authentic galettes (a french savoury filled pancake) and great coffee! The staff are very welcoming and friendly. It's well worth a visit!

Best Americanos we had during our stay in England. The cafe is so cute. We warmed up near the fireplace, listening to Leonard Cohen and admiring the view of Berry Pomeroy Castle from the window. The owners were very friendly. We should have stayed for lunch-- the soups smelled amazing!

What a perfect setting this is. Looking out over the ruins of this beautiful castle this little café has recently changed management and it shows. A warm greeting on arrival and a lovely selection of food and drink to choose from made by the very talented French chef working there makes this a place you really want to return to.... More

We saw the cafe after our visit to Berry Pomeroy Castle. You really need to stop here and have a coffee and lunch. We chose the soup of the day, and a sausage sandwich along with coffee. The sandwiches are freshly made, generously sized, and really well presented. The soup was delicious and the coffee was good too. This was... More
