Visiting from Australia we have been lucky enough to sample some excellent tea rooms and cafes in the UK, this was not one of them. We were moved from the table we were initially sat at due to quote "The table being reserved"; however we have real doubts that it was. There was no reserved sign at the table and... More

Cups and saucers old and in need of replacement. Served with mismatching floral saucers and a Christmas cup .... we were visiting in August. Old stains very evident on the china from the many teas and coffees served over the years. We arrived near on closing time so chose to sit outside near the entrance for a quick coffee. My... More

We were wandering around the area and found this tea room due to it's popularity. Gracious me, the house tea was perfect and scones were so divine. One thing though, the tea cups were pretty but could do with more scrubbing.

We enjoyed out visit here, it made a rainy Bank Holiday more pleasant. Make sure you book ahead though, it gets very busy! Huge range of scones, even dairy and gluten free ones for a little extra money. It is a bit expensive, over three quid for a tiny home made lemonade? Still worth a visit, it would have a... More

We were in the area so came here for lunch/tea as we have done on previous occasions. We phoned and booked a table as the weather was very showery and wanted to be guaranteed a table. The menu is fantastic and includes a wonderful choice of sandwich fillings amongst many other things. Our order was taken promptly although it was... More

We went here on a sunny afternoon in July for a cream tea after being recommended a few times. Ordering a cream tea isn't straight forward here, the choices of different scones was huge and the variety of teas or coffees. A little bit pricey but extremely enjoyable, especially sat outside in the garden.

Very popular place. Food is excellent. Cream teas and filled baguettes are wondetful. Roasts and all day breakfasts are really good too. Portions generous. Most savoury meals come with a good side salad. You need to book well in advance if you want to sit inside for lunch especially for Sunday when you may need to book a week ahead.... More

I visited the Angel cafe in August. It was truly lovely. Very peaceful and staff were pleasant. We orders a scone and tea which was gorgeous a pot of tea which was free with the scone real tea leaves. I was very impressed and will return.
