Lovely Edwardian style hotel restaurant just outside Torquay that offers fine dining with a focus on local produce. Brixham Fish, Maidencombe White Bait etc, perfect! Coming from a very vibrant food scene in London, the food here definitely a nod to an era of quality + quantity, versus excitement (which I suspect totally fits a Torquay well lealed Demographic). Big... More

A delightful experience, particularly attentive and accommodating staff, excellent service and a delicious meal served in an airy and peaceful dining room with beautiful view of the gardens dipping down the cliffs to the sea. Definitely one of the highlights of my recent trip to Devon. Very impressed by the service and cuisine and would highly recommend this family run... More

This very comfortable hotel is (we understand) run by two chefs and their family. The food is perfectly cooked and presented, the flavours burst in your mouth the way I remember them! Everything is properly done - the service - the tableware - the wine!

The restaurant is located a bit off the beaten path. There are 2 rooms, one is a bit more formal and the other one has a lot more windows. The dinner and the presentation of it were very good. We came from a 2 week cruise and were used to some good meals, and we were not disappointed.

I took an old colleague here for dinner She like I, has hospitality background. Which means we both appreciate the service industry for what it is. Which is an art not only the performance of just how well is delivered but the substance of whats put in front of you. This place is no Jackson Pollock (a fad/Modern art with... More

Just been to the Orestone for afternoon tea with my father. My brother had told me how good it was but I thought he must be exaggerating a little. How wrong I was. The service was excellent but the food was out of this world. A good variety of sandwiches, home made scones with generous portions of Devonshire cream and... More

Beautiful location...a quiet terrace overlooking the garden. The service was good and the cream tea was delicious.
