Two restaurants under one roof, situated on the picturesque harbour of Torquay in South Devon. The Brasserie and The Room offer two different but equally tasty dining experiences, where we take advantage of our beautiful, and fresh local ingredients and of course, produce from our very own Southdown Farm, Brixham. The Brasserie is family friendly and is open for lunch and dinner Tues - Sat, with an amazing value for money set menu available all week and of course some daily specials. The Brasserie is open all year round and seats up to 55. It's situated on the ground floor of our Georgian terraced building. The Room at The Elephant is our Michelin star awarded restaurant for the 9th consecutive year and offers an exceptional fine dining experience that cannot be missed! We are currently serving a 7 course tasting menu, with an optional cheese course from our British cheese board and the meal includes tea or coffee with petite fours. We also offer an optional matching wine flight for each course which is a great way to have an all round gastronomical experience.

Visited tonight with my wife, we hadnt booked but they found us a table. Staff were very welcoming and polite . Food was very tasty and well presented. I had lemon sole and my wife had turkey. Excellent food. Started with terrine, then sole and finished with scrumptious rice pudding. Very friendly service. Amazing value at £19 including glass of wine. Lovely views overlooking harbour.

We ate in the brasserie. The staff were attentive and the service was efficient. The food was nicely presented and it was good to see a variety of local suppliers but some of the dishes were quite bland and not as impressive as restaurants in similar price ranges that we have visited.

This restaurant was recommended to us by our hotel owners and we were so grateful. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with a really calm atmosphere. Despite being quite high end I felt totally comfortable there and really taken care of by the staff. The food was impeccable and delicious, definitely be returning on our next trip.

We had the special three courses and a glass of wine for £19. Amazing quality food for the price. Portions not massive and we had some side orders of chips with the main courses. Good reasonably priced wine list and friendly service.

This was our third or fourth visit to this bistro. It is hard to beat. Service first class, beautifully presented food, seasoned to perfection and great combination of flavours. My sole dish hard to beat. Exquisite desserts always tempting. Yes,it is expensive but you get what you pay for and this is still good value. It would be twice as... More

We popped into this restaurant without booking and fortunately it was early evening and we managed to get a table. By the time we had finished our first course the restaurant was extremely busy, with very few tables empty. The food and service was exceptional. There was also a set meal option which was very good value for money, three... More

New to Torquay we were impressed by all aspects of our dining experience from the efficient handling of my telephone enquiry to our welcome at the Elephant and most impressive of all a delicious menu and glass of wine for a fantastic £19. Attentive friendly service, a perfect evening thank you!

Came here with my mum and friend to try the taster menu which was 7 courses and we opted to get the cheese board too. Oh my gosh it lived up to my expectations, the parsnip and cider apple soup was amazing! The portion sizes were good for taster sizes and all the complementing wines where lovely. Our waitress was... This review is for Michelin starred "The Room" upstairs at The Elephant. Our seven course tasting menu meal was everything you would expect of a Michelin-starred restaurant. The service was efficient but not stuffy, the food complex but not overly pretentious and the price was expensive but not extortionate. The wine list was surprisingly affordable too. Honestly, if you’re anywhere... More
