Visited on Monday and staff seemed to be in a bit of a flap. After ordering the waitress said the food would take a while because they were very busy. Looking around there was another one table having coffees. A couple of regulars came in and took pity on the staff and started clearing some tables. Food did take a... More

Went here to try the afternoon tea, was ok for the price but the scones were very small. The tables are squashed in, struggled to find a table for my family of 5. I thought it was very strange that the children's cream tea comes with tea or coffee - not many children drink this. Coffee was nice.

Pleasant little place and value for money. We had a cream tea, which was delicious. The toilet was also clean.

Lovely tea room with good choice of home made cakes, 3 of us went for the cream tea which was fantastic, our other son had steak and chips which he equally enjoyed! Cosy, friendly, family run establishment, would definitely visit again.

We decided to visit this tea room on the strength of the trip advisor certificates displayed in the window. We were not disappointed. The staff were very friendly, service was good and the food excellent. A visit here is a must if you are in the area.

Staying at TLH we ate at lunchtime at Singing Kettle. The gluten and dairy free quiche was delicious as was all the other meals our friends had. The ladies were cheerful and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend you visit if you are staying nearby,

There are so many places in Torquay that serve the traditional Devon cream tea, it would be difficult to single one out without trying them all. We hit on The Singing Kettle as it was across the road from our hotel. It was so good we had a repeat performance the following day. Two oven-warmed scones (a choice of plain,... More
