Bright and cheerful

I was there in February prompted by Alex Pollezzis programme the Fixer The service was quick and there were another 10 customers in the Cafe in the late Afternoon, I can imagine in the Summer it would be the ideal place to sit outside for a snack or meal.

After hearing lots of ads on Palm FM for this establishment - and the fact I've lived in Torquay all my life and never been - we were really keen to try the place and decided to try it as a treat one Saturday afternoon. Firstly you cannot fault the staff. The service was excellent and they were very attentive.... More

After seeing The Singing Kettle on TV , we decided to visit, just for a hot chocolate and cappuccino, on a rainy and cold Sunday, my husbands Choc was not hot, the machine for my cappuccino had just broken down, the staff apologised and made me one which was ok, how I wanted to support this business, being a local... The cakes on display are wonderful,, but too many and you won't get in and possibly worse, get out of the tiny, tiny loo. Despite a recent overhaul and modernisation, it is,a very dated and cluttered tea shop. The service was good and staff friendly but home-made cakes need to be matched with comfortable and modern facilities. After all less... More

Following appearing on tv we decided to visit the singing kettle. The service although slow was very friendly and the food fresh. Being a gorgeously warm spring day we sat outside to catch a glimpse of the see. I would highly recommend the singing kettle. Only a minutes walk from the beach its local and certainly not part of a... More

We stumbled across the Singing Kettle late on a Sunday afternoon by chance after discovering the Costa Coffee on the sea front had a broken card machine. The staff were extremely friendly and kept the cafe open whilst we enjoyed our cream tea with no pressure put on us to leave. The cafe was very proud of the fact their... More

i went here for breakfast, being local and giving my money to local business. Food was beyond believe, could not fault it. However do I want to hear staff moaning between each other. Tone it down people locals don't want to hear it.

We visited for a nice quick coffee, which certainly wasn't either nice or quick. The coffee took around 15 minutes to arrive at our table. One Americano and one Cappuccino tasted exactly the same - overly milky, and very weak. We visited late morning, and it wasn't particularly busy with food orders - others were there simply having coffee too.... More

We thought we'd pop in for the best breakfast in the Bay, we were not disappointed...locally sourced delicious bacon and butchers sausages, everything cooked to perfection, breakfast even includes toast and marmalade and a choice of orange juice, lovely loose leaf tea or coffee. Their amazing cakes and scones are to die for...and it's so refreshing that everything is home... More
