Enjoyable food, nice setting

Called in on spec for lunch. Greeting prompt and decent time to study menus. Drinks came fairly promptly and then acceptable delay before food came. I had the wild rabbit pudding with chips and everything on the plate was delicious with the suet pudding being the star. Didn't mind the thyme... read more

Visited here with friends, ordered a blue steak, my steak arrived and I cut straight into it to find out it was medium rare and steaming, the waiter was very good and apologetic and took it back, within a minute or two another steak came out. This time it was just right apart from it was very cold, and my... More

Dear Andrew P, My Head Chef wanted to respond to your review, but I cannot publish his comments. The Chef's did this in the Kitchen when it was sent back, and it was indeed Blue, and as you advised that... More

On the 10th on December my partner booked us a meal at our favourite restaurant and just when you thought it couldn't get any better it did. We had starters which were perfect as always and shortly after I was presented with a beautiful centre piece of flowers a gift from my other half sneakily planned with the help of... More

This very attractive pub is set in a lovely location and is tastefully decorated. We all had mains which were fine nothing which stood out as exceptional but the food was hot and presented well. The desserts we thought let it down not a great choice. The staff were great and very welcoming. They allow dogs in the area where... More

This was our first visit to the thatched tavern. As a couple who regularly visit lots of different pubs and restaurants in the area I can confirm that I was very pleased with my choice..we where greated by a loverly young man who was very helpful...The warm log fire gave a very cosy atmosphere. Immediately we where asked if we... More

We had a great meal at the Thatched Cottage. We ate downstairs which is quite cosy. Staff were very good and polite. The food was well cooked and nicely presented. We shall return.

We were visiting the area and had booked but we only just made it before the car gave up on us!! We broke down literally on arrival at the pub! The staff were so helpful and as we had no mobile signal, they allowed us to use their phone to contact our breakdown service. We had a lovely meal and... More
