Unfortunately our stay was way too short. We rented both rooms for a night before leaving out of Southampton on a cruise. The staff was great and the food was great. We'd never experienced a Cream Tea but found the best one of our entire trip at the Thatched Tavern. We also had a beef pie and other great dishes... More

Liked: the food was glorious and the sweets were to die for, atmosphere was lovely & the staff were very attentive and friendly. Disliked: absolutely nothing to dislike about the place. Highly recommend the place. Give their pies a try they are great.

Beautiful off-track location by Maidencombe Beach in Torquay. The restaurant are was impeccably clean and well-laid out when our table ate here last Saturday. The staff although young, were highly courteous and friendly ( quite surprised to have read some previous revues! ). Although the restaurant was full, the eight of us eating felt unhurried when ordering/ eating. The menu,... More

My wife and I visited for the second time during our week's holiday in Torquay, having discovered it last year and being highly impressed. We were really looking forward to our return visit and we were not disappointed, we both had a lovely 3 course meal in wonderful and friendly surroundings

My family ate here whilst on holiday in the area, it came strongly recommended. The restaurant was very busy which meant it was a while before we were shown to our table, but apart from that we all enjoyed the evening. The menu had a good selection of dishes on it, which were all served very fresh. The waitress that... More

We had a great evening at the tavern, good simple pub food, great selection of local beer and great pies. The beer garden is also a great sun trap during the early afternoon. Eat here and enjoy the value for money meals

We visted one evening last week after hearing great reviews, unfortunately upon arriving this was not the case expercienced for us. We recieved a very cold reception from what we presumed was the owner. Although food was ok but nothing special we would of expected for the price a greater quality and a better level of service there's nothing worse than... More

We have been to the Thatched Tavern many times and the food and service have always been of the highest standard. The menu is extensive catering for all tastes I can personally recommend the pies. My wife and friend had the Nasi Goreng which they both said was full of flavour and will be next on my list. The atmosphere... More

Very good food at a very reasonable price, service attentive and efficient without being intrusive or pushy. Looking forward to going back.
