If you want an idyllic setting then go. If you want top cuisine then don't. The food and service was very average but acceptable. The gardens were lovely. So go in the summer and sit outside.

Myself and my partner live locally and were recommended this place by friends so we booked a table. When we arrived at the pub we were both very impressed by its stunning looks and features both outside and in. However, once inside we were greeted by staff that were polite but you sensed that they would have rather been somewhere... More

Had a surprise half day off from work and so we decided to call in for lunch on the way home.. Starters of wild mushrooms and Tomato/carrot soup - both very tasty Mains of Beef+Ale pie and Nasi Goreng, both good.. Would have loved a pudding, but didn't have room... Will call again ATB,J.

In this part of the world one's expectations of a decent meal are rarely met. However, it's worth finding this pub, not because the food is amazing, but because it's good, the service is friendly and the place is homely and comfortable. In summer the gardens are very pretty, and the lunch menu is above average. Five of us booked... More

Visited for dinner on a cold November evening and received a warm welcome from the friendly landlady. Place was almost deserted as an England match was on later in the evening. Food was good - I had chicken pie which I enjoyed, and my wife had an equally enjoyable chicken dish. Hot chocolate with cream was something else. We recommend... More

8 of us ate here, 8 of us wanted to share or swap meals with each other. We each had something different and could not believe that every meal was so perfect. Staff made us welcome, including the dog, served with a smile and were extremely helpful. All meals arrived together, red hot and cooked to perfection. We all had... More
